In Wisconsin you get an "EV" sticker for your hybrid license plate, front and rear. Supposed to be for emergency personnel to be aware of hi voltage battery. It has the added benefit of letting everyone know you paid double for your plate as well :(

Why would you take the hybrid badge off?
I take off the badging on my vehicles… For me it’s an OCD thing; I dislike badges and stickers on
anything 🤷‍♀️
Even tags on clothes and just about everything 🤭
I could have worse vices I guess 😂LOLOL

Looks like a spot where they put no paint on the tailgate. I checked the badge to see if any paint came off with it, but there was none. Anyone else see this?
Why remove the badge?

That's a good enough reason, I can understand if you wanted the cleaner look I just hope it's not because some of the guys out here imply the hybrid drivers sit down when they're peeing. Which makes me think that some of the EB drivers need to take off their shoes when they count....

Just put the badge back on. Problem solved. A badge looks better than poorly touched up "missing" paint anyways.

I read other replies and it's your truck so if you want to remove the badge, feel free. Maybe the spot is intential and its there so they know where to place the badge. ???

The badge is not for first responders.

That's what ORANGE cables are for.

ORANGE cables are the one and only universal requirement for higher voltages (higher than 50v) and this is what first responders are trained to look for. Not plates. Not badges. Not stickers.

EV plate is a new one. I'm sure that's for taxation purposes. The plate could (probably would) get destroyed in a bad accident. Hell, even torn off the vehicle. Hence, orange cables.

Thanks for the heads-up.
Ford Maverick I removed the Hybrid badge and found this 1723500146695-uo
This is a case where over-zealous lawmakers got it wrong.

When it comes to safety, you must have a fail-safe, fool-proof system. Not a voluntary compliance system.
Not a "retrofit" idea.

So say 99% of people comply and manually add those EV stickers. Some of the 1% are still going to have major accidents.

So are first responders going to attack vehicles without stickers willy-nilly and "assume" there is no high voltage??
You know what happens when you assume.

Nope. Any first responder worth his salt is going to CHECK for BRIGHT ORANGE cables. Because, ya know. Stickers fall off. Stickers get covered by snow. Ice. Dirt. And some, maybe 1% won't put them on.

The automakers already planned for this, hence the orange electrical cables.

I believe Ford paints the entire truck first. I would imagine the badge is one of the last things put on. So, that is weird if the paint didn't come up with the decal.
The paint absolutely came off in that spot when you removed the badge. Bob is correct, the whole truck is painted as a shell at the factory before anything is added. You can see it in the video below.
