Oh, another genius post!

You nailed it again.

Please share with the group: which car makers DO NOT ALLOW MARKUP on high demand vehicles? This will definitely help us all out!

I agree and would ditch ford. For me its not the wait but the mark up that ford allows on ordered vehicles, just lost any respect for a company like that.

Santa Cruz is not inferior, it’s actually nicer with a way better warranty, it’s just not the value that maverick is
Hyundai HAD TO offer that longer warranty because they were so unreliable and couldn't match Honda and Toyota legendary reliability. They have gotten better over the years but still have an annoying tendency to catch on fire 🔥 To this day they remind me of a modernized Yugo.

i am going to cancel my 2022 Maverick, thinking about going for 2022 Ranger.
You cannot cancel your order, you will be walking away and surrendering your order to the dealer.

You lose, dealer wins

I just have to laugh at people. Do they not know that high end vehicle manufacturers have been making people wait for years before they get their vehicle and they have to pay a premium on top of it?

People said they wanted to live like the one percent. Well, now you can.

And you only have to shell out $20K to do it!

I shopped for Hyundai, Honda, Chevy, Kia and Toyota and all direct you to dealers inventory. So I haven't seen any company that says this is your vehicle that goes as far as taking you personal information. If they mark up dealer inventory that's fine but once you give them personal information for an order, that is where it crosses the line to mark up.
you can go into any of the actual dealerships of those brands and custom order any vehicle you want, I’ve done it and I’m willing to bet many others have too…. Just because the manufacturers website directs you to a dealers inventory doesn’t mean you can’t custom order a vehicle

I waited 9 months for my first edition lariat and it was well worth it...I'm getting 40.8 all around in gas mileage and I'm enjoying everyday I drive the truck....It's worth the wait. !!!!!!

my neighbor wanted to trade in her older 4Runner for a new 2022 model earlier this year. The closest Toyota dealer didn't have any on the lot. She had to order it and they told her 2-3 weeks, then it changed to 6 weeks, then they called 2 more times to push it back as it was supposed to arrive. Finally arrived about 3 months after order. Chevy makes you order Corvette C-8. My local Chevy dealer only takes orders for all their SUVs with only 1 of each type lower end models on the lot- take it or order. Honda was taking orders for the new "off road" looking Ridgeline. Tesla took 100,000 orders for the Cybertruck and hasn't produced a single retail unit in what 3 years? You can bet the pricing on that will keep going up and up before any arrive on lots. It is NOT just a Ford thing to custom order- it is the new Normal.

Santa Cruz is a better built, better performing vehicle. Price and fuel mileage favor the maverick. But that only goes so far when you can't get one. My lease ends in November. If my year old maverick order hasn't materialized by then, it'll likely be a Hyundai or Honda for me too.
Have you watched the 4WD testing on Youtube? The Maverick has a much better 4WD system then the SC. The SC doesn't have the bed volume and as you said doesn't the price or mileage of the Maverick. Your choice but I'm still not sold on Hyundai especially when you say better built and look at the Hyundai/Kia recalls....not saying Ford builds quality but I don't think Kia and Hyundai do either...
