It seems like with some of the issues we're facing, the advice, solutions, and feedback changes quite a bit. It can be frankly exhausting to have to figure out, ok, my truck is doing this, how do I fix it, and the forums show 17 different solutions. Case in point, the software recalls, they were good, then they were maybe bad, then they were definitely bad, then they became maybe good again, and now people are saying the software recalls are perfectly safe. It's all this back and worth that gets tiring.

All of this to say, I think we should create some sort of living document that consolidated all of this information in one place, like a group Google doc that can constantly be updated with the best, and most current advice. If your truck is doing this, then the issue is probably this, and based on our current understanding, the best solution is this.

That way, you're not having to jump into 37 different sub threads to find the best and most up to date advice while trying to figure out what's right or wrong. It's all in one place, one document itemized, and it's constantly giving you the best advice.

Like case in point, it seems the most common issue, really one of the only mainstream, and reoccurring issues we're seeing with mavericks these days is the CV axles. The transmissions and engines are solid, the software, now at least, is pretty solid, the rest of the suspension seems ok. But the CV axles have been a major point of aggravation for a lot of owners, and are a major point of concern on my mind and others who've yet to deal with it, because I know it's probably gonna happen.

So using that as an example, you could have a category of the document, suspension, sub section - CV axles.

Symptoms of bad CV axles - Excessive vibrations while accelerating.

Solutions from Ford - Replace axles and boots under warranty. Hopefully they eventually issue a recall for it, if they do, we can mention that recall by name, and how helpful it's been. Once aftermarket companies come out with higher quality CV axles, we can also mention those, and discuss their quality and price.

Hopefully you guys see what I'm saying. This way you're not having to jump around 15 different sub threads, there can just be a document on the forums that consolidates the best feedback.

If you are asking for free advice from random and uncredentialed strangers, that is what you are going to get. Any living document will b edited by the same people in multitudes of ways, both for right and for wrong.

Welcome to asking questions on the Internet. You get what you pay for.

Understand your point 100% but who’s going to compile all that info into 1 doc and then keep that doc current? Bueller Bueller Bueller

That's the downside to the Age of Information we live in . . . too much of it. Frankly, I don't see much difference between this club forum and a Google doc; both will have the same kind of input, some accurate, some not so much. In time you'll come to recognize those members who are more experienced and knowledgeable. In my experience, I've gotten accurate advice and information most of the time.

"Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into your CV axle issue on my end."

I nominate @OneAlienBoi to lead the Google doc creation….

I kid, I do like the idea but it is probably not a sustainable living document without a passionate owner.

You can set up a Google doc to where anyone can edit. That comes with its own issues, some jerk would probably come along and delete everything, or speak misinformation. You can also share the doc with just a few people to edit, and share it as it changes via a non editable doc or something. Not a perfect solution, but I've seen quite a few people trying to get the most up to date, and credible advice on the forums. It's all over the place.

All in favor of putting Kev in charge of this project?

I think you just described Google search and ChatGPT.

The hardest part of having access to overwhelming data is separating fact from fiction and/or misinformation.

Made even worse by AI like you mentioned unfortunately. Well, I should mention that ChatGPT and other AI don't deliberately mislead people, but they're used by people to mislead others. So you gotta be careful. Case in point, all the rumors of CAT making their own passenger pickup going around these last few weeks. People point to AI images someone made and say it's real. Assume everything is fake until you have evidence to the contrary is my mentality.
