You were about to set us Hybrid owners into a full rage keyboard anxiety attack. Glad you will be at best 35;)

I was about to have my jaw hit the floor and ask how (without being a hybrid) so that I could use similar tactics. I am not trying to be a "hyper-miler" but if simple things increased it that much, I would have been all over that. But then realize the April fools comments. (and yes I know about tire pressures and simple things to increase MPG, but the up to 40 I would have had a notebook and pen ready to write down what to do...haha :) )

I just did a 400mile round trip this weekend for Easter and was happy I hit 33mpg. It was all highway and only had cruise set just a couple mph over speed the limit at all times (no rush to get where I had to go and back). I will try and upload my photo of it later, but I may be hitting 550-600 miles on 1 tank with my AWD 2.0L EB... I am currently sitting at like 430miles and its telling me 130to empty but I do not want to run it out... :) ...so I feel that's damn impressive for me!

You know, it's not entirely unheard of to achieve 40 mpg with an Ecoboost. My previous Maverick was able to achieve 38 mpg on a highway trip. If I had drove a little longer it probably would've got there. And it was an AWD Maverick mind you.

Like Dusty, I was on alert and ready for information.
HA! Well done.
But I also am ready to see exactly how high I can get the EB FWD to go.
No long trips yet, but when we do it'll be fun to squeeze the hydrocarbons as much as we can.

It’s a small truck and wouldn’t be that far out to reach a pretty high mpg with no payload and careful acceleration.

I've gotten as high as 37 with 91 E-Free cruising a two lane at 50. Light pedal. 55 miles round trip. Nailing 26 around town. Ecobeast loves 91 E-Free.

It's not totally impossible.

Ford Maverick I got 40 mpg with my 2.0 eco boost. TINA_MPG_20221004

It's close anyway. Only front wheel drive, it's more efficient.

It can be done. I achieved 40 mpg in a bronco sport awd 2.0 ecoboost. I also averaged 50 mpg out of my 2012 focus with the 2.0 for a whole week. This was in town and highway driving mix. The problem is it is exhausting to maintain the concentration to do it, so to me it is not worth it. Normal in my focus is around 34 to 38 mpg.

April fools
Good to here so many 2.0 eco boost are coming close to 40mpg. I get 25 to 28 combined and as high as 32 highway. I though it would be a fun april fools post.
