I just noticed you have a very famous photo in your ID area. Not many people probably know who he is, what he is doing and why he did it!!

Curtis B only one other fourm member has asked me that. This was my response.

I was wondering when someone would notice that.
Two reasons... 1.) It's a pic of an old man pounding his shoe on a podium while making his point. Perfect for a fourm as so many opinions are given in a like manner. 2.) Look closer and you will see two pics, one with a shoe and one without. According to the website of choice for lazy students and politicians (Wikipedia) the shoe was added later.

Off topic but I came across an article in a 1960's LIFE magazine which featured an excerpt from his autobiography Khrushchev Remembers. Read so interesting that I looked for and found the book. The events of the period of Stalin's death, Beria's machinations and eventual trial and death was something I was not aware of. How Brezhnev jockeyed Khrushchev out as well.
