These are the tires I’ve been waiting to see on a Maverick! Looks great! More rugged than I thought they would look. Need all of the info please. Size? Actual weight? Handling? Noise? Wheel size? Eventually MPG? Keep the info coming on these please.
235/65R17 Firestone Destination A/T2 mounted on 17x7.5 +35mm Sparco Terra in bronze.

My scale isn't the most consistent thing but stock wheels+tires weighed in at 48-49lbs and this setup was 49-50lbs. That lines up with the Firestone + Sparco specs of 28lbs and 21.35lbs respectively, nice to see that it's accurate.

They certainly look the part. Haven't had a chance to drive on em yet but I will this weekend and I'll give an update once I actually put some miles on!

Hey everyone— I’m interested to hear from hybrid (or ecoboost) owners who have 235’s on their trucks. Any change to power, feel, or fuel economy? Also, photos would be great! I have an XLT hybrid coming soon (🤞), and I’m thinking about getting Toyo Open Country AT3’s in this size. Thanks!
What's the benefit to larger tire? I want to get AT tired but thought about keeping it stock size. Would it have better grip since it's bigger? As you can tell I'm new to trucks lol

Just looks. You really have to go up to 245 and above to get any more significant ground clearance or contact patch. I think the 235 looks slightly better on the truck.
-I’d love to have 245/65’s, but I’m not willing to sacrifice mileage.

That’s fantastic for A/T tires! Can’t wait to hear how you like them!

I've put 400+ miles on them now so I have some initial impressions.

They are louder than stock, which is to be expected, but they are not loud in my opinion. You get a little bit of that AT noise, and with the windows open you can hear the tread blocks. You can feel them on certain surfaces too. This is all pretty nitpicky and most people I do not think would really notice much if anything. It blends in to the background and if I were not trying to notice it I don't think I would.

Comfort is improved, they feel much better over bumps, potholes, imperfections, etc.

I have only driven them in the dry, but dry grip levels are nice. I never pushed it to the limits on the stock tires but I do some amateur racing as a hobby, and I drove it spiritedly up some tight canyon roads. The new tires definitely take a fraction of a second longer to load up, probably because of the huge increase in tread depth, but the ultimate grip feels good.

Gas mileage seems relatively unchanged. Granted, I only had ~200mi on the truck when I swapped them out so I do not have a ton of history to go on. I also do a lot of freeway driving at 80mph which is basically the worst-case scenario for mileage in the Hybrid. My average has gone down ~0.4mpg, however, I was driving at higher speeds for these miles so overall negigible. Certainly not the 5+ mpg drops some people report when going to big/heavy AT/MT tires.

Very happy with them so far. They look great, ride great, and I'm excited to give them a go in some snow, mud, and light trails/camping in the future.

How's performance. Does it feel any slower? These sound like the perfect ATs for the hybrid!

It doesn't feel any slower to me. Overall weight is close enough to the same, though that mass has moved outward a bit so I'd assume that would have a small effect.

I'm not able to give you a great picture on 0-60 times or anything because I'm still breaking mine in. I think I hit near "100% power" once when I needed to throttle out of a situation on the freeway but otherwise, I've been babying it and keeping it at/under 50%.

Sounds good. Puts them at the top of my list for when I want some good 3 peak ATs that don't kill performance or milage. Keep us posted after you put more miles on them.

I live in WV with 2.0 AWD + 4K XLT. Luv the little puppy! The stock tires are like birthday party balloons. Took em off n sold them at 2k miles. Got $175 for all 4. Poor sucker! Put on Pirelli Scorpion 235/65/17 A/T. They look amazing and sound loud n buzzy like a bee and dropped mileage by almost 1 mpg. Big deal. One day I drove from Fairfax, VA to Richmond, VA on I-95 in eco mode and got 37.1 mpg for full hour at 70 mph. Hard to complain.

What kind of MPG on average are you getting with the new tires? City/Hwy split?

I get 22 mpg in town and 29 to 31 on highways. I typically stay in sport mode and I drive aggressively. In eco mode with a light foot I can get 35 to 37 using only 93 octane

Who needs 4WD? ;)

Truck did just fine up some relatively steep inclines with ice underneath and fresh snow on top. Went through ~6 inches of fresh snow a few weeks ago with no issues either. Snapped this pic late in the day when it was getting slushy in the Sierras.

First tank was half stock tires half APTs. 50 / 50 highway city. Would have hit 500 miles to the tank, filled up a little early. Around 37 mpg. City has been above 40 mpg every trip, highway around 34 mpg. Cruising around 75 mph, would probably help mpgs to sit right at 70.
How do you like the Nokians in the stock size now that you've had them for a while now?

I’m contemplating switching out my 225/60r18 Michelin Primacy for some 245/55r18 AT. haven’t really shopped brands as I might wait another year or so until the Michelins are close to their end life. Might even see if I can find someone to swap me some 17s, don’t like the black and chrome 18s that come on the Lariat. Has anyone put wider 245s or even 255s on their Maverick, any clearance problems?. I don’t plan on doing any lift as wife has arthritis and would have trouble getting in a taller truck.
