Hybrids with 235/65R17: Impressions?

Will do, I will say I am a bit disappointed with Nokian on their listed weight. They list 26.5lbs and the actual weight is 28.8lbs. This would be minor, but the whole point was finding a light MILD AT tire for my hybrid.

Seems to be common with that new lineup to be optimistic then. I was looking at the 255- or 245/65R17 for another vehicle and the listed weight seemed improbably light. Ranger folks reported they were in fact almost 5 lbs heavier.

I'm going with CrossClimate 2 - snow rated, 85K Mile wear, outstanding wet traction and snow traction. 235/65/17 - XLT Hybrid FWD - so need the snow rating and no off road plans.

It sorta ruins the whole idea for me. I might try return them, but I'm sure it will be a PITA.

I get it. At that weight, there are probably more compelling options. I’m a little worried about all the companies’ listed weights.

Asked Priority Tire about a return, but they wouldn't pay for return shipping. I asked about the false advertising weight on Nokian's site, but they wouldn't really acknowledge.

I haven't purchased the tires yet. Maybe someone on the thread can offer a review for you - I will once I get them. But I've don't a lot of research -- these are a really great road/winter/rain tire

thanks. I have 2-3 months before the hybrid is here so will have some time to see. I have these on my daughter's 2010 prius and they are very good in that vehicle; although I am not sure on the mileage penalty, if any.

225/65/17 Nokian Outpost APT

First tank was half stock tires half APTs. 50 / 50 highway city. Would have hit 500 miles to the tank, filled up a little early. Around 37 mpg. City has been above 40 mpg every trip, highway around 34 mpg. Cruising around 75 mph, would probably help mpgs to sit right at 70.

Hmm—I’ll have to check the Outposts out.

The Outpost ATPs are also a low rolling resistance rated tire.
I ran 235/60/18s in my old hybrid.
Fuel economy was increasing over the Contis but I was also just breaking the truck in.

Directional Tire. I have them on my RV but I only carry one spare which will be a bitch if I get a flat on the other side then what they are set up for. That and the mileage reduction I've seen are my biggest complaints. Overall great tires minus those two shortcomings.
