Hybrid Owners - Oil Change - Skid Plate

Can one of you lucky new Hybrid owners let everyone know about the Hybrid's skid plate as related to oil changes? Is the skid plate
metal or plastic? Does it have to be removed for an oil change? How difficult is it to remove?

I just got my Hybrid two days ago and I just look now and see that it got a skid plate, and it looks like it made of a cheap plastic but not 100% sure. And the skid plate has to be removed to change the oil filter and to remove the oil plug. I do not know how hard it is to remove.
I wish I had more info for you.

Yes, all Maverick Hybrids got skid plate until you remove them. And I am not sure it should be calling it a skid plate because it will not protect underneath the motor from big rocks, logs when it made of plastic, I think. I think all it good for is to keep out Gravel, Dirt, Mud, and Snow, which is a good thing. I hope this info help you.

It's not a skid plate. Skid plates are metal. It's there for aerodynamics, in other words for increased MPG. You can see it in this oil change video.

It's a fiberboard airflow plate. More than likely for fuel economy if I had to guess. My ecoboost has it as well. Thingiverse has access covers you can 3D print for the drain plug, and the oil filter access, and then cut the access holes in your cover to fit them.

It's just a cover and made out of some kind of fiber and burns very easy . My MacBook was one of the recalls for heat and fire problem. The butcher my cover how to clean it up myself cut out some pieces bad places clean out a bunch of weeds that one on the top of it very very poor job of this recall. Is very easy to take off just unlocked of screws. See pics also do you have to remove it to change your oil filter and oil.
