Been worried about my order since I haven’t seen the paperwork. When I found my order confirmation email, that helped some. But I was also concerned that the order was put in as a stock rather than retail (just because I worry about things like that). Finally emailed today to ask about priority number and was to,d it was 10. So short of getting a production email*, I’m about as happy as I can be.

*probably be awhile with RR first edition hybrid.

I switched colors and when I got the revised order sheet the priority code went from a 19 to a 17. Big moves here!! I've have it any day now

I'm a glutton for punishment. Thinking of ordering a second hybrid for my wife. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, I am making a financial move which makes taking delivery prior to March problematic. So, instead of canceling my order, I added tonneau to it!

Good luck on order day, everyone!!!! I am here to cheer y'all on!!!

Where does one find a priority code?

Where does one find a priority code?
Your dealer assigns it. Ask you dealer for the lowest priority number that they will give you, that gives you the highest priority for that dealer. They can assign 10 - 19. 19 is default in their computer system.

I agree that there's a move to onshoring to reduce supply risk. But this doesn't mean that auto manufacturers are planning to make their own ICs. It means that they're partnering with and supporting Intel, TI, ADI, Maxim, etc. to bring production back to the continent.

It's important to understand that there's nothing unique about automotive semiconductors. They use power transistors, controllers, memory, sensors, lasers, LEDs and such used in all kind of industrial and consumer products. Automotive does have more stringent environmental (temperature, humidity) requirements, but otherwise functionality is not unique. Removing themselves from the larger semi industry by insourcing production would result in them quickly falling behind; they rely on synergy from much broader markets.

So it is accurate that auto manufactures (and others) are pushing for more domestic manufacturing. But that will not be accomplished by them doing it themselves.
You mean other than the automotive world is outdated by 20 years?
