Hit 3k miles and I just started experimenting with mpg at variables. I have a 26 awd hybrid with 4k tow. 80 mph on relatively flat Texas highways 90 degrees is about 27 mpg. 75 mph same route and conditions is about 33 mpg , 70 is about 35 mpg, 65 is around 37 mpg. Around town/city driving is 41 mpg

I just returned from a 4000 mile trip with my 26 hybrid, 2500 on interstate at 81mph and 1500 on 2 lane roads in the mountains..I averaged 32 on interstate and 41 on 2 lanes.
Is your hybrid AWD? After 2024, we need to know. Still haven't been able to determine how the mileage on the new ('25 & '26) FWD eCVT compares with the '22-24 FWD only hybrids. There was a new eCVT starting in 2025 MY. I'm thinking it should be more efficient.

👆 me too

I kinda want AWD for towing, but all my miles are in above freezing and I love getting 54 MPG around town not towing.

It would be hard for me to stomach a drop in MPG.

I had read that the change was actually just the final drive ratio - not a whole new eCVT. The lower final drive ratio will increase RPM, but keep the truck in its proper power band Which would be particularly advantageous when towing or carrying a heavier payload. If I can find a link to that, I’ll be back with it - but it was some months ago.

My recollection was it wasn't just the final drive ratio because one change was the power off the line, and that the 0-60 time decreased.

No, starting with the '25 MY all Maverick hybrids got the new HF55 eCVT replacing the earlier HF45 improving its power and robustness, but really don't know if that translates to improved MPG. I do know that AWD gets little less (MPG) than earlier FWD only hybrids as expected, but still have not seen a HF45 MPG FWD comparison to a HF55 FWD.

I live in Texas where many people consider Speed Limits as mere suggestions, or at least the “minimum speed” someone should be driving and in the far most right lane.
on a recent trip, light and variable winds, I ran 80 and kept an eye on the mileage. It showed 29 mpg on our 2026 Hybrid with bed cover (Aero impact?).
And as they say, YMMV (your mileage may vary).
Do you think any vehicle is going to get great mileage at 80MPH? Hybrid vehicles are designed to run under 60MPH to get over 40 MPG, not built for Texas roads.

I never said that I DID expect great mileage at 80. But I will say that the 29mpg that I did get that day, certainly isn’t bad.
Nothing short of a 1 ton diesel dually with a battering ram is truly suitable for Texas roads…

Final drive ratio change alone can make a HUGE difference in off the line performance. An old drag car of mine picked up .7 seconds changing from 4.11 to 4.88 gears with no other changes.
