2025 Hybrid AWD Maverick. Is there a way to stop either the AC or the heat from coming on even though the Auto feature is off? Here is an example of what’s happening: If I leave my temperature set at 74 and I start my truck on winter mornings, temperatures in the high teens to low 20s, the blower immediately comes on blowing that cold outside air into the cab. I can prevent this by setting the temperature to low before I turn the truck off. But, is there a way to stop the blower from automatically coming on if I leave the temp set at 74 in the winter? In the summer, even on cool mornings, if I leave the temp set to low the AC kicks on when I start the truck in the morning. If I l leave the temp set at a high temperature it stops the AC from coming on when I start my truck on summer mornings. Is there anyway to leave my temperatures where I want them, winter and summer, and keep the blower(winter) or the AC & blower(summer) from coming on when starting my truck in the morning?
Thanks in advance.

My 2022 only did that the first few days after purchase.

Cycling all the buttons solved this.
The system had to "initialize" or something had to be "cleared" out of the memory. Not sure. Just I am sure toggling all the setting just once solved it for good.

Good luck. My 2022 does not do that, past first couple of days that it did.
Sometimes you just gotta go out and experiment.

The air is supposed to be directed to the windshield defrost vents until it can deliver warm air so as not to blow chilly air directly at people. It will switch back to the floor/face vents when it reaches temp. You may need to set the fan speed to AUTO for it to do this.

  • If you press AUTO during cold outside temperatures, the system directs air flow to the windshield and side window air vents. In addition, the blower motor may run at a slower speed until the engine warms up.
  • If you press AUTO during hot temperatures and the inside of the vehicle is hot, the system uses recirculated air to maximize interior cooling. Blower motor speed may also reduce until the air cools.

Leave your HVAC controls on Auto and it will stop doing this. In the winter, it will not start blowing air until the coolant warms up to a certain temp. In the summer, you leaving the temp setting on "LO" commands the HVAC system to have the A/C on at all times.

Treat it like a house thermostat: put it on auto and set the temp you want. The system will do the rest.

Another odd, off-the-wall option would be when auto is off, then the controls are actually in manual control lol. But, it appears the HVAC controls are always on auto, even when auto is off. Nothing like having 0F air blowing in my face and on my hands after I had purposely turned the fan off. I will try auto again, but my recollection is the fan would come on if the vehicle wasn't at the set temperature, even if the Mav wasn't warmed up yet.
