Huracan tailgate storage solution is coming

I emailed Huracan Fabrication asking if they will be selling tailgate mod kits for the Maverick. I got the response this morning that they will be producing them once they can get their hands on one.

Kind of neat but not something I'd be interested in. If anyone does get one remember to deduct the weight of your stuff in the tailgate from the 500 pound tailgate weight rating.

Is there info on how much weight the bumper can hold? The Mav bumper is begging to be stood on.

All I've seen in the owners manual is for the tailgate. Jump on that bumper and enjoy.

Standing on bumper should be fine, but Ford wouldn't give it a load rating because IFAIK load ratings are all intended to list the max weight for "in transit."

I got to 00:4:15 and said no thanks. I personally do not see the value in it for my purposes. If it were a replacement part, different story. But to pat that amount of money and have to cut out the tailgate sheet metal, NAH!! That tailgate is not that thick to begin with so the gain would be minimal.

But to each his/her own.

I agree. It looks like a lot of work and the tailgate isn't all that big. Might be worth it on a superduty but the amount of storage space added seems fairly minimal. Now if Ford made a purpose built tailgate with a locking storage compartment I might be interested, but they would have to figure out how to make it big/deep enough to be worthwhile.
