New car smell irritating anyone else?

Is the Ford new car smell/chemicals irritating or messing with anyone else? After riding in my Maverick for 15 or more mins, it almost feels like you can taste the chemical offgassing within the Mav. Unless there is a problem in mine?

*Note: I do have bad allergies.

Yes, when I inhale hard, i feel like I can taste it. Like when I yawn... it's kind of gross.

Mine was very faint. Might have something to do with mine sitting in Mexico for 6 weeks before delivery. I don't mind. I remember having a similar experience/reaction to the new car smell in my corolla when I bought it. Eye watering for a couple weeks.

I didn't have any smell in my Maverick when I received it, chemical, new car, or otherwise.

I actually have virtually no new car smell. Kinda was thinking that was disappointing. As I try to keep that new car smell in my vehicle as long as possible. Usually 20-25K miles. But if it smells like what you describe, I am glad mine actually doesn't have that 'new car smell.'

Although the Lexol leather wipes I use do smell new car-y in a good way. So it achieves the result I am looking for.

Mine came with only a subtle new car smell, nothing you could really get offended by, and that's considering I seem to be overly sensitive to any smell and get nauseous easily. Mine probably spent the least time from manufacture to delivery since I'm in Mexico. Maybe your dealership used something too strong when doing the pre delivery cleanup? Too much Armor All on the interior plastics perhaps?

Laughed when I read your comment. I remember seeing some weird movie (Losin' It) from 1982 with Tom Cruise where he goes down to Mexico with his friends trying to get laid, and if memory serves, his friend was trying to get the seats of his car recovered for cheap, only everyone kept warning them that they fill the seats with horse $hit. That explains the smell in the MAverick! LOL!

Mine has a slight new car scent, and it sat in the desert for 2 months before getting on a train for a month. I love the new car smell. Ford could probably find a way to make it a $100 option....

Don't they sell those little pine tree air fresheners in new car smell? Maybe it those liquid ones that go on your air vent. Can't remember. Better be careful though, it might smell like a Chevy.

I wish I could smell mine. But, alas I have not heard a peep of when it will be built.
