I actually put weight in the back of my 1975 Datsun pickup once here in GA. Never used any in any front wheel drive vehicle including when I was a "damn" Yankee in Iowa.

No need whatsoever. It's not a RWD vehicle.
I have a buddy who told me he added sandbags to his Maverick. I reminded him it's a FWD vehicle, so he's getting no benefit. It appears the FWD weight distribution is about 62/38, which seems to be in line with FWD sedans.

I added about 120 lbs (60 over each wheel) purely to calm the bounce down since usually not carrying much. It does help.
Not about the snow at all, and since I added before snow - no idea if a difference - since FWD probably not.

I have an FX4 and I do put about 60#’s above each rear tire in bed also. We get a lot of the white stuff here and I think the extra weight also helps in keeping it on track when cornering in snow. YMMV.

get blizzak tires as good as four whl drive with just fwd
I have great winter ‘directional ‘ tires on my Mav, and I can go almost anywhere that my Dodge 4x4 could go, but unlike some of those people, like Clint, “ I know my limitations”. 😉

Last time I was in Cancun, ‘2023’ I don’t remember seeing snow! The only sort of white stuff I saw was sand! 😉
You got me! I retired in Cancun... I didn't grow up here tho

I run dedicated snow tires and no sand bags in our fwd hybrid. I had initially planned to use some sand bags, since I would normally do this on all previous rwd/4wd trucks, but found the Mav just didn’t need them.
