I am aware that we are not talking about the radio.

My question is why would you need a WIRELESS module for a WIRED KEYPAD????

Maybe the wire only gives it power and maybe an open/closed signal from each button?

The non-Lux versions of those trims still have a door keypad. The radio transceiver may be different/additional on those for the keyfob remote start. Does the XLT key fob have an LED indicator for remote start success/fail like the Lariat?

I tried doing this a few months ago. Here are my findings:
- there is a OEM part number to purchase a keypad specifically for the maverick
- the existing wiring harness in an XL model does not have provisions to simply plug in the new keypad in the way that the F-150s do
- you cannot purchase a pre-cut trim piece, when you do this install you can purchase the keypad along with a template to place over the plastic panel to make the cutout for the keypad (there is also an OEM part number for the template)
- I am not sure that it is possible to remove the black panel underneath the door panel which covers the window, etc. if anybody has steps to remove this cover a guide would be great as we would likely require its removal to route the new wiring harness to accommodate the keypad

I can provide part numbers for the template and keypad that I purchased if anyone is interested. (I have since returned the parts because it wasn't a plug-n-play solution which is what I was expecting after seeing the F-150 setup)

I would really like to add this functionality so I am willing to help with any testing/installation in any way. I will pick up the parts again this week. The template and keypad are around $120CAD if I remember correctly, if anyone has the part number for the new harness required that would be great as well.

The black panel is removable, but it's a little awkward because the window regulator is integrated into it. I believe one of the audio install threads has more details on the removal process.

Now we are getting somewhere!!! Thank you so much for your work. Could you place the part numbers here?? That would be helpful to keep it here for others.

Thanks!!!

or...you maybe could just get this? Requires Dealer Service Tool (IDS/FDRS) or just pay extra $24 for the Dealer to install.

This thread is almost a year old.

OP is severely misinformed. On the F150 the pillar trim could be swapped out with the wired version of the keypad because all trims had a cutout in the door pillar. On the Maverick ONLY the XLT and Lariat models have a cutout in the door pillar. The XL doors are solid so there is no place to put the keypad. The Maverick does not use pillar trim pieces like the F150 does, it uses vinyl wrap. I'm only writing this in the event someone tries following OP's very misguided intentions.

Moral of the story, if you have an XL, the wireless stick on keypad is the ONLY way to go as you can not add the wired keypad to an XL. I love how adamant they were when they were completely incorrect.

Edit: What the other user posted is not a "template" for cutting out the door frame, I know because I've seen it in person. It's just the applique pillar trim (vinyl) used on XLT and Lariat models and does not give exact placement for cutting out the rectangle in the door frame. It's not a simple matter of taking a dremel since the door frame itself is different from an XLT or Lariat and does not have a pass through for the wiring in it. If you look on Ford Parts you'll see different part numbers for the XL door and the XLT/Lariat door. I don't know why people want to go through all of the trouble when the stick on keypad works really well.

Yes I agree exactly!

But what's funny is the leaked 2024 Major Product Changes sheet today appears to show the SecuriCode Keyless-Entry Keypad on Drivers Side being deleted for 2024!! So if you order a 2024 Maverick and want the keypad...well you're ordering the wireless keypad from Ford Accessories!

The deletion of the Securicode panel on 24's is a strange move. Not everyone is savvy enough to lock/unlock their vehicle with the FordPass App if their keys are inside.

The XL door was different than the XLT and Lariat doors in that the latter 2 had a wiring hole (and wire harness). They deleted the keypad so they can just have one door style and save $$.

I recall having a hard time understanding how to get the wireless keypad to work, ford tried to charge me over $100 to install the wireless keypad on my ford maverick but I abstained as I was hoping we would have a solution.

Do you mind going into detail on how you programmed the wireless keypad to work with your maverick without the dealers help?
