I had a couple 1970's, and they were even longer. A Full 1 foot Beak in front of the hood!

Ford - Look at our magnificent 5th gen Thunderbird.
Also Ford - We also added a foot long beak to the hood... best of luck.

btw my dream car is a 67-69 (also a 5th gen somehow?)

I used to cruise in a buddy's 77 Lincoln Mark. We often ran around loaded up so the hood was always nose up!
I drove one of those at work once. Got off and drove my Datsun B210 home. After the Lincoln, I felt like I was driving while sitting on the bumper

I thought 67/69 were soo much prettier. Except for the 4 doors🤢

67-71 was all the same platform, and shared Most of the parts between those years. I had 2 68's, and 2 70's. (and a 71 MK III) 70 Tbird was the one I miss most. They were comfortable beasts and had evil personalities. The 70 429 With Dove heads was like Nothing else. A bigger head scratcher was that all 64-73 Mustangs are the same generation. Even though the body style changed 3 times, they all shared the same chassis and basic structure.

The bumpers actually made great seats!

Had a 74 Monte Carlo with a Hood that went on forever . Had to cover the 400 ci motor . talk about a comfortable ride . seat material was knit like and not good with shedding German shepherd . sold car to cousin that complained for years about the dog hair . unfortunately no pics .

Is anyone else bothered by the size of the hood? To me, driving, it obstructs my view, and in my opinion is disproportionate to the size of the truck. Thoughts?

Nope no trouble at all
I came from a Tacoma... lol - No trouble at all. Plenty of clearancearence

I just pretend like I'm driving a bigger truck.

The hood doesn't bother me when driving, or when washing the vehicle...
I do, however, have a hard time judging the distance in front of the truck. I have had to get out and move forward many times. If I'm in my garage, I have a few visual markers that I use to get it in far enough, but in parking garages, I am inching forward slowly, against my instincts.

If ever a vehicle needed front parking sensors, this one does.

I went out and checked mine. It goes from fender to fender and from windshield to grill. It looked like it was just right to me. Why do people whine about things that they can't do anything about?
