I've have the Lund Aeroskin Hood Protector on my Maverick since March. I live in hot and humid Florida. It has not lifted off in any spots at all. It is as secure as all get out. It uses extremely tacky and thick double sided tape and comes with simple to follow directions on how to apply.

Why would anyone want rivets?

I don't like the tape on one because I want to be able to occasionally remove it otherwise you're going to have paint fade on the truck. If you have to take it off down the road for any reason.

The one that attaches to the hood by pins not 3M tape is this one: https://realtruck.com/p/avs-bugflector-ii-bug-shield/v/ford/maverick/2022/

There are a couple of people on the forum who've installed, but I haven't seen any pictures of what the actual mounting looks like. There are a few pics of it mounted (no different than what the store pics show), haven't seen any pictures of what it looks like from underneath or the side. There are a few pictures of the installation process though, which is helpful. It was reported that this is apparently effective at pushing bugs over most of the windshield.

Curious if anyone has noticed any paint damage under the deflector due to vibration of the deflector or is it quite solid ?

Please take a look at the attached pictures.
Are there any major concerns with the stick on type?

Bugflector bug shield. Where the holes didn’t lineup, I used a power screwdriver acting as a reamer.

I got the one from Lasco Auto Parts, but I'm trying to return it because I discovered a hidden warning to avoid automatic car washes. Had I known that little piece of information beforehand ...
Anyway, returning it is complicated. They do not give you a return ticket number or even a shipping label. Also, shipping is insane. The item cost me around $100 and they want $153.00 to ship it back. Ridiculous. I was charged $18 shipping. They want you to call them to and enter a promo code to get a shipping discount. Stupid. Stop playing games and charge me the same price you paid to ship it back! Freakin' run-around is a terrible way to do business. Needless to say, I won't be purchasing anything from Lasco again.
Car washes with ruin your paint and not recommended if you have a professionally applied ceramic coating put on (which I have). I use Maguire's waterless cleaner, spray on wipe off with micro-fibre towels, it's excellent.

I don't trust any of those waterless cleaners. All you are doing is wiping dirt and small particles across the paint surface as you attempt to clean it. I have some cars with nice finishes and even ceramic coats but I believe the best way to clean a car is to first soak it and then rinse it heavy with water followed by cleaning using soap and water with a a lot of rinsing. Then use micro-fibers with cleaners. People that say water never touches their cars are not going their cars any favors.

@Gullzway how is it going with the textured deflector? Have you had more windshield chips since install?

Thinking the smoked Lund and Weathertechs are so low profile they probably won’t offer much protection… but maybe I’m wrong

Going great. Haven't had any rocks hit the Windshield, that I know of, 19,000 miles later. Not many bugs either.

Unfortunately they discontinued the Aeroskin2 I put on. May be able to find it at a local Ford dealer. Last time I checked, one near me had two of them stored in an unusual off-road parts location. Shows discontinued in their system but this dealers had a note next to the part.

My 2005 Sport Trac had the style that screwed/riveted on. Paint on the front hood edge was pretty trashed under there after 14 years. They can vibrate against it at higher speeds.
One of the reasons I went with the stick on 3M style.

I will begin by acknowledging this is not the correct process for offering something for sale. That said, I got an Aeroskin 2 for the 2022 Velocity Blue XLT that was never built, and I am not going to put it on my 2023 Cactus Gray XLT. Shipping carton is gone. If I see any interest, I will post a proper listing.
