Please take a look at the attached pictures.
Are there any major concerns with the stick on type?

When you dry fit the deflector apply some blue painters tape along the top edge so you'll know where to stop applying the adhesion promoter on the hood. ....

good luck

I installed the Lund from Ford Accessories and I didn't even notice the Ford Logo it's so tiny and lightly etched. Certainly not a big deal.

I have mine on my Shadow Black Mav and you can barely see it, but it's nice protection. I've used these Lund deflectors and while they don't do much to keep bugs off your windshield. They do prevent rock chips from that portion of your hood.

Does this adhere under the hood or on top of the hood? It is in direct contact with the hood? I had one on another vehicle and it faded in a few years. If I ever have to remove it, I wander if vibration will wear thru the paint at all, and if adhesive tapes will damage the paint on top of the hood.

Yea. That is never coming off without damaging the paint, and the plastics tend to fade and dull over time. Not sure about AVS, but another brand I had once did.

They can be removed with heat, slow pressure and finally adhesive remover w/o damaging the paint. The video I posted is a representative sample, the Ford accessory is manufactured by Lund and installs the same way. Lund carries a lifetime warranty....

Car washes with ruin your paint and not recommended if you have a professionally applied ceramic coating put on (which I have). I use Maguire's waterless cleaner, spray on wipe off with micro-fibre towels, it's excellent.
Thanks for the tip. I'll look into doing that.

Bugflector bug shield. Where the holes didn’t lineup, I used a power screwdriver acting as a reamer.
Did you put any PPF on the underside of the hood first before installing the shield to prevent any movement from rubbing the paint?

One of the first things I always do with any vehicle I acquire, is to thoroughly wax it. In the case of the maverick, I used a ceramic based wax.
The bug deflector touches the inside of the hood where the 4 screws are placed. It’s suspended/gapped between the bug deflector and the hood. You have to press hard on the deflector in order for it to touch the hood.
Keep in mind that I didn’t reshape the bug deflector with a hot air gun, I’ve seen others do, but I did have to slightly notch, the deflector where the screws are placed underneath the hood

Just installed the Auto vent shade AVS-25980 on my 2023 maverick. simple bolt on installation using existing holes in the hood. No tape needed. Comes with rubber bumpers for the hood. Includes adjustment instructions to reset the hood bumper to the proper height

Good to know. Thanks for the tip. I'm really considering this deflector because I really don't want to use the 3M tape.

3M tape does NOT damage paint. I’ve removed countless emblems and badges from my vehicles that are held in by similar double sided tape. They come off very easily during a hot summer day.
