2023 no current recalls, about 800 miles only but no grabby brakes here (rather surprised at how well they did the regen/friction brake management actually)
No sleep issues (yet?)
So far pleasantly surprised at the truck so far, first Ford in a LONG time and much better than that one was!
I can say that in my Model 3 (Tesla) I can avoid regen brake lights to a point; if I keep the throttle engaged such that the vehicle speed change does not exceed whatever is the programmed threshold, yes - but it only works if you have a long distance in which to stop and can do that slower...
I've found that driving in Eco is the most comfortable in our 2023, it's doesn't lurch really and the regen + brake pedal mix is actually pretty well done.
We had an early EV (2015) that didn't do such a hot job; brake pedal was all regen unless a hard (like emergency) application or when the...
The properly engineered cars don't turn the brake light on all the time on coasting (even our Audi Hybrid was smarter than that)
The brake lights come on only under the right conditions ie regen has caused the car's deceleration to hit a threshold that light braking would likely also have...
After so many delays and uncertainty we final did end up with the dark blue Hybrid Maverick, bye bye rough riding 19mpg Tacoma (though it was bullet proof reliable) instead now 40mpg (or so) smoother riding.. if an EV Maverick shows up, it will be on our rdar based on how well this one holds up.
I will say sync 3 leaves a bunch to be desired but we finally figured out how to use CarPlay while native XM is running, whew. Harmony in the home maintained
Arrived today, 2023 in the 'proper' color as determined by him, fairly well equipped (you take what you can find when it Has to be blue and 2024 dropped this color.)
So far so good, doesn't ride like the old Tacoma (a plus) and room in the back seats is a bonus.
Truck came with some heavy duty...
Name me one oil company that give's a real rat's butt about the continuing damage done to the environment in the quest for more oil; off-shore drilling rigs polluting entire gulfs, fracking destroying ground water, etc. The list goes on.
Honestly I think most humans don't give near enough...
RE FUD - didn't intend to suggest insult and the other quote was more 'FUDy' than yours for sure
New tech is a very reasonable concern for sure; it is true our little device batteries are less and less like our EV batteries.
In the beginning the Tesla Roadster was powered with something like...
Can't speak to Ford for sure but the concern about battery degradation has been proven to be more fear than reality. Even Prius/Toyota hybrid cars seem to do fine into 300-400k range (family member has a Lexus flavored Prius) . Tesla battery duration also looks much better than naysayers...
Interesting 'No' comments
We have a Tesla and neither range nor on-road charging time or availability has ever been an issue. Ford's realization that Tesla (for all of Elon's noise, ill manners and general dislikability) really did make the smart investment on the super charger network really...
No argument with much of what you said though I do disagree about solar and other renewables; I've seen plenty of discussions and studies that show if we want to make the grid clean we can and not even requiring tech we don't have today.
I honestly believe the biggest impediment is the will...
