Ford is eliminating their problem by making the hybrid engine an option. When people see the $1500 price for the option they will shy away from it.
Many other make like toyota its about 4 grand more for hybrid which makes it not worth it. (Corolla Cross). For me 1500 makes break even point at 3 years with 3.50 gas. So if I had to do a new order for 2024 I would still get hybrid. Lucky my 2023 is built yet sitting in mexico yet.

Show me proof that they’re losing money.
I thought that because it is possible to have both capitalism and a conscience. I admit that it was a misguided feeling on my part.
Those two things really don't go together...most companies want to sell you that, but they will do whatever they can get away with to please their stock holders, not the customer

When this truck came out in 2022 for 20 grand it caught my interest . My 23 Ecoboost 4k,XLT lux pkg was 32 grand.now it's approaching 40 grand.price almost doubled in 2 years! Still like my mav at 32 grand but doubt I would purchase at 40.
Sorry Tim. If your '23 XLT has doubled in two years, it would be almost $64K. The base XL for $20K in '22 is now $23.4K. It is still a veritable bargain. The maxed out Lariat I ordered in '21 for about $37K is still under $40K for '24 ;)

My Dealer called this morning...Conway Ford...Conway, S.C....My truck is 15 months out from it's original delivery. It has 9,110 miles on it..It is an XLT AWD 2.0 Turbo....he wrote me a check today for $1,000 more than I paid for it the day I took delivery.
I really enjoyed the truck, never had a single complaint other than the Continental tires that they replaced at 700 miles. It averaged 30 MPG for 15 months of service and I owned it for Nothing. Took the money and Ran.

And they still won’t sell.
But you’re right there are a few select vehicles which have lower prices, all electric, and nobody wants, or can afford them. Tesla sales down 35% this year. But, the prices are lower now.

Things are looking up at guess.
What? Tesla is killing it. They reduced prices to where they were basically in 2021.

Sorry for the confusing post.when the Maverick came out it was listed at 19995.00 which got my interest,I didn't realize the maverick 8 actually wanted was closer to 40k now.

Not when you look at a comparably equipped ICE vs Hybrid, and note that Toyota's hybrid is AWD only, so the comparison needs to account for that. It's $2,050 for LE AWD to Hybrid SE.

Now, availability and ADMs are a whole other matter.

Tesla was left with almost as many Models S and X on hand as it could sell, building 19,437 for Q1 2023. A similar number of Models 3 and Y were built but left unsold as well. This is becoming a growing problem for Tesla. In Q1 2022, it sold 5,000 more EVs than it built. In Q1 2023, it built 18,000 more EVs than it could sell, which we can add to the 56,000 unsold EVs it reported at the end of 2022.

Stopped into one of my local dealers today and they have already placed 30 2024 Mav orders. He said he's also heard that other dealers are shutting off new orders soon, if they'll let you place an order at all.

I don't think the craziness is dying down anytime soon.

I don't care what Toyota SAYS the prices are. I looked in the real world. I could get a corolla cross gas for 25600 best i could find hybrid was 30K. Both were awd. Both base models. Real world results. so 4400 plus added tax on the 30K one. I could have picked up either one BUT since my 2023 hybrid mav was scheduled and now built I didn't. I wasn't going to wait for a 2024 Mav. Otherwise I would have got the gas Cross. Keep in mind Toyota is ripping off all customers now with "Port Installed Options" that they now reprint on the sticker. Yes right on window sticker , neat trick since its built in the usa.
I wasn't going to get into the nitty gritty part on toyota but since you said I was wrong I did.

Right, looks to be a real problem. :ROFLMAO:
Sales are going to lag production. As you ramp up production, there will be more in transit to customers.

I think what we are seeing are individual dealers shutting down orders, not Ford yet. This year, unlike last, dealers know approximately what their yearly allocation will be and are not going over.

While I understand why people would want a nicer truck, to me the Maverick is a cheaper

That is like 13 days of inventory...big whoop.

So, with the MY24 Maverick build and price now available online, I played around a bit this morning and came to this conclusion: a decently equipped Maverick will now set you back $35,000-$37,000, on average.

Screenshot 2023-07-17 at 9.23.58 AM.png

Now, I realize my definition of "decently equipped" is subjective. For the purposes of this discussion, I am tossing out bare bones XL builds and the Lariat trim completely. Rather, I am focused on the XLT -- widely considered to be the "sweet spot" for the Maverick.

For 2024, to get an XLT with the luxury package (meets my definition of "decently equipped" compared to many other trucks and SUVs on the market) and EITHER the Tremor off-road package, FX4 Off-Road Package, Black Appearance Package or 4K Towing Package, the truck now sits in the $35,000-$37,000 range. You can play with the build and price tool all you want, but the way Ford has done things for 2024 means you can no longer get FX4 without 4K, you can no longer get BAP without XLT Lux, you can no longer get the Tremor package without CP 360, etc.

Basically, they've configured the builds to force you to potentially take a package you don't want to get one you do. Certainly makes sense from a profitability standpoint, and probably will also help Ford meet demand going forward, as I no longer see the Maverick as a highly compelling option at these prices. I personally would not be interested in a "base" XL, nor would I ever consider going to $40K for a Lariat Lux.

Anyway, I am SUPER GLAD I have my 2022 XLT FX4 LUX (still with only 5,500 miles) and I got it for under $32K and 1.9% financing. I guess I have been around this group long enough to be the grumpy old man of Maverick Truck Club, but the glory days for the Maverick may be coming to an end from a value standpoint.
This has to be one of the most ignorant posts gaining views on this forum I've seen in awhile. It's complete crap.

The 2002 Honda Accord I bought used with 110k miles was bought in 2001 for $19,940. Minus the terrible auto transmissions, the 6th gen Accords are absolutely bulletproof.

In late 2021 when I bought my Maverick, that would have been around $31,000.

For $4000 more, I got:

1. AWD that's insanely capable, especially when paired with real all terrain tires. The trucklet has impressed Jeep bros and even a guy in an F-150 Raptor.
2. 100 HP more and a turbo, so it's insanely fun to drive in the mountains with good power.
3. Infotainment
4. Significantly safer design, more airbags
5. A 4.5' bed
6. Moonroof
7. Built in inverter
8. And...the same rated mileage on a truck that's 700 pounds more than the Accord. Is that bonkers or what?
for the folks that got in early, HOORAY! now that 'market' realities have revealed themselves Ford is adjusting pricing and procurement priorities to better align with the best balance of what people actually order/ordered in the real world vs what they(Ford) thought they would sell and what volume & trim level they believe they will be able to produce in the upcoming model yr build out. streamlining the different options can DRAMATICALLY improve vehicle per hour rates produced more than most folks realize. if Ford can somehow squeeze out just 50+more Mav's per shift long WITH fewer mis-built units because somebody was not paying attention to which option was supposed to go on this one or that one. that kind of stuff can add up quickly to increased production and shorter waits for our customers and fewer defects usually. again, this is how you ramp up production from your existing assembly line(s). i'm not thrilled with some of their choices as to which trim levels get which options included that are now forced upon us, i would of just charged the people more $$ for the extras, especially when it comes to the keyless entry keypad!!
