Assume you have a Lariat that now requires all kinds of added goodies as standard. The Maverick was never a good value at $40K IMO, and still isn't.
I kind of get what you're saying, but if you do want all the goodies (Copilot 360 with adaptive cruise, LED headlights, power rear window, spray in bedliner, B&O audio, Pleather interior, Smartkey and pushbutton start, etc.)... what other pickup can you get for under $40k? Santa Fe maybe? Not a lot in the sub $40k range with lots of creature comforts.

All I know is day two of the banks being open and I'm seeing lots of dealer posts and emails asking who wants to place an order. Seems like a good number of dealers twirling their thumbs today.
Pure speculation, but fun to imagine the Maverick rush is over.

Hummmmm!
With people trapped at airports today I wonder how long would it take to sell 100 maverick XLT with hitches for $50,000.00???and how many would be resold within 10 minutes for *10k more???

Yeah, I admit I am confused. My 2023 order, a Lariat Black Appearance hybrid, which is on the way to the dealer right now, was 36,250+/-.

I just built the same truck on the 2024 website, and it came in at 37,375. +/-.

I believe Ford has played around with the Lux and the 360+ packages, so the final costs are pretty similar.

Hardly a sky is falling increase.

I'm getting one in with Long Lewis in Hoover and they said they were slammed yesterday and that it continued through today entering orders. Now what we don't know, is are those orders for Super Doodys or Mavs.

Still a good sign if you're seeing that. Might maybe mean better odds for folks in MY24.

Ford hasn't even come close to meeting demand for this truck for the first two model years. Basic economics has taught us for years that increased demand X limited supply = higher market price. It's called "Free Enterprise," and we all love it in this country UNTIL... we're on the receiving end of the above equation. We could ask the government to step in and control the price, but I'm pretty sure- this being an AMERICAN TRUCK website- that more than a few folks here would immediately reject such an idea as "socialism," and will gladly pay whatever price the market dictates (wink, wink...).

Also their products absolutely suck at doing anything with any other technology that is not Apple based. They wont even connect easily to car radios so for the last decade or so have been saying they are gonna build a car. If they ever do I can only guess that they will have to have a proprietary line at the DMV to register them with specially shaped licesnse plates :ROFLMAO: !
Connects to my Maverick just fine. Wirelessly too. Love how simple it is. Have zero buttons to press. Phone never leaves my pocket. Two times I left my phone in my office. Not for long! Saves by butt. The moment I started the truck it said "searching for phone" and I knew I forgot it before leaving the work parking lot. Love that feature. Saved me from getting home and having to live without it or returning to work.

So, with the MY24 Maverick build and price now available online, I played around a bit this morning and came to this conclusion: a decently equipped Maverick will now set you back $35,000-$37,000, on average.

Now, I realize my definition of "decently equipped" is subjective. For the purposes of this discussion, I am tossing out bare bones XL builds and the Lariat trim completely. Rather, I am focused on the XLT -- widely considered to be the "sweet spot" for the Maverick.

For 2024, to get an XLT with the luxury package (meets my definition of "decently equipped" compared to many other trucks and SUVs on the market) and EITHER the Tremor off-road package, FX4 Off-Road Package, Black Appearance Package or 4K Towing Package, the truck now sits in the $35,000-$37,000 range. You can play with the build and price tool all you want, but the way Ford has done things for 2024 means you can no longer get FX4 without 4K, you can no longer get BAP without XLT Lux, you can no longer get the Tremor package without CP 360, etc.

Basically, they've configured the builds to force you to potentially take a package you don't want to get one you do. Certainly makes sense from a profitability standpoint, and probably will also help Ford meet demand going forward, as I no longer see the Maverick as a highly compelling option at these prices. I personally would not be interested in a "base" XL, nor would I ever consider going to $40K for a Lariat Lux.

Anyway, I am SUPER GLAD I have my 2022 XLT FX4 LUX (still with only 5,500 miles) and I got it for under $32K and 1.9% financing. I guess I have been around this group long enough to be the grumpy old man of Maverick Truck Club, but the glory days for the Maverick may be coming to an end from a value standpoint.
I will be losing my spray bed liner and paying more for a dropin with new pricing and configurations. Hope the 23 comes in. How will they be compensating those with 23 orders if they roll into a 24?

A diiferent angle -

Maybe adjusting to the Demographics - since this was released as a "younger" generation truck from its inception .. Older folks have more disposable income for excessive creature comforts .... And it appears the age target was off from the launch ...
YMMV

I guess it depends on what your getting. My Hybrid xlt two options full size spare and manual slide window If i price it now its up 3600 bucks., Hardly nothing. Plus I lose the sliding rear window and no keypad on door.

Ford is eliminating their problem by making the hybrid engine an option. When people see the $1500 price for the option they will shy away from it.

Well her whatever the new one is Iphone won't connect to our TV, my laptop(without a complex program downloaded and updated) laptop our project, or my tablet. It would only connect to the Maverick reliably when plugged in, wirelessly it would make it hard to get to the radio and would kickoff randomly when I actually needed directions lol. But she won't ever use anything other than Apples.
