Any issues recalibrating the collision avoidance sensor?

Yes, thank you. Out here in California the Safelite windshield replacement made it clear that they are not using OEM which is probably why the recalibration becomes more important because the optical clarity of glass and one brand to Another is different. So yes I would be curious to know how they actually do calibrate your windshield if you don’t mind telling once it is done.I'm replacing one Tuesday with Safelite. I'll report back.
Dang I just saw this. I was hoping you could ask the Satelite guy how much it would cost to upgrade to the acoustic glass.I'm replacing one Tuesday with Safelite. I'll report back.
SO. had the windshield replaced today at my house. 35 degrees and sunny. Good job good service by Safelite. NOT OEM glass. Tech did the recalibration and test drove it. Reasonable price overall, but the recalibration cost more than the glass. By a lot.I'm replacing one Tuesday with Safelite. I'll report back.

Thank you for the follow up. How did you get the price match?SO. had the windshield replaced today at my house. 35 degrees and sunny. Good job good service by Safelite. NOT OEM glass. You do have to let it sit for a couple of hours after the service (about 2) and no hi pressure car washes for 2 days minimum.
Sorry meant to mention that.Thank you for the follow up. How did you get the price match?
Wow, nice! I was able to get a quote from Safelite to use Ford 0EM glass -out the door is $1050 for me with a $45 discount code. Maybe I’ll login under my other email and try for the strategy you employed!Sorry meant to mention that.
I went on line and asked for a quote, then left without scheduling service. Within 12 hours I had a code for $150 off which the local vendor had to honor.
Also, the final price is $776; the $50 fee for mobile service was waived as I had to reschedule my appointment at their site due to the replacement glass was received chipped.
The actual calibration is done with a tablet like tool that plugs into the port under the dash. The tech runs through a menu and makes a couple of height measurements inputs them and is done. Takes about 10-15 minutes followed by a 5 minute check ride to verify. I am not a technical car guy (or even vaguely tool competent) so that's the best answer I got.....Yes, thank you.
