I picked up my 24' Hot Pepper Maverick Hybrid Lariat with lux package on Feb 12 and have driven it 1525 miles as of today. No issues, love the ACC features, the automatic hold at stoplights, and the 45 mpg on almost 3 tanks.

I'm taking delivery of my brand new 2024 Maverick hybrid XL in the coming few weeks, and I am wondering if anyone has already experienced any issues. I know that Ford had stated that they will be upping the quality control significantly. I was just wondering if that is the case, or are there still issues.
I got my Lariat Hybrid in December and have had no issues. Getting 45 mpg in mostly urban driving. Dang, sorry to hear. You'd think by now this would be a non issue. It's something with the cowl seal. Not sure if it's a parts or an install problem. If install, your at mercy of whoever installed that day...I've had my 2024 XL Hybrid for about a month. Just washed it at a self-service coin operated car wash with pressure sprayer. Afterwards there was water on the driver side floorboard. Couldn't tell where it came from. Glad I replaced the factory carpet mats with rubber ones. But I detest water leaks and hope this doesn't become an issue.
Yes the water appeared on the floorboard immediately after doing the car wash. Thanks for posting the video and picture, as I had no idea what a cowl seal is until now. I hope I don't have to dismantle and replace something on a brand new vehicle. I'm just going to keep an eye on it for now. I don't have a garage so it's exposed to the elements.Dang, sorry to hear. I really need to test mine as it stays garaged.
Was the water pretty instant to see or do you think it's been accumulating overtime and it's reached point of noticing ?
Edit: went down the rabbit hole of looking for solutions to problems I don't even know I have. It seems that most of these are related to the cowl air intake and maverick shares part with escape I think. Here is a good picture of the part I was able to find. There is clearly a seal , hooks ? And some clips. I bet either seals are damaged or part isn't fully set https://www.fordescape.org/threads/...seat-rather-than-installed-in-the-car.122845/
This video at 3:08 shows the part I believe. Easy to see where it could leak if it's not sealed properly
I wish someone on this forum had access to the dealer / service portal. I find it hard to believe that there is no hints from Ford as to where to look at this point.
Id take the cowl off and inspect that guard piece close up and make sure its even completely installed. I actually took took out my cabin filter and could see those two metal clips shown in the picture engaged (they engage on the bottom). Upper portion has the hooks which I can't see because didn't remove the cowl. I'd think if those hooks arent fully set or the clips, then you are not getting a good seal resulting in a leak.Yes the water appeared on the floorboard immediately after doing the car wash. The strange thing is that I drove in rain last week and didn't notice any water. Great trouble shooting recommendations though. As soon as I get time I'm going to inspect and do some testing as you suggested.Id take the cowl off and inspect that guard piece close up and make sure its even completely installed. At minimum remove your cabin air filter and try to look at the clips and see if they are set or if you see something out of place....Removing the cowl looks easy and if you are handy its probably better than going to the dealer.
Lastly with everything attached except for cabin filter, you could pour some water on the cowl and see if its coming in...
At self service car wash you are most likely spraying water into the mesh inlet under the hood (which you are allowed to do) on the cowl and in general spraying a lot more volume around that area. Its all related to volume and reaching above where the seal isnt intact. The strange thing is that I drove in rain last week and didn't notice any water. Great trouble shooting recommendations though.
