Had I known how the seats do the "SWAYBACK",I would have optioned up to get the lumbar support...I got a gel cushion for my butt and one for my back-very comfortable but a PITA to always have to adjust/"fix". I opted to get a FORD LUMBAR support and install it my self to max. FUGGING A!!! don't need or use either cushion now.Firm seats but thats what I like

Seats are not hard on the softer side if anything. Ride is not harsh, but I have the IRS, not the solid rear axle,
Agreed. XL hybrid here with the basic rear suspension. Bought mine across the country, drove it 1800 miles home. No issue with the seats or ride.

Flippant but true: a 25 year old butt will ache a lot less than a 65 year old butt.

My Maverick IS A TRUCK. I was unable to drive one before purchase, but I am ok with the ride and the hard seat cushions. My wife will not ride more than an hour because she finds the ride uncomfortable. She wants long distance travel to be in my 17 mpg 2005 Aviator. I like 45mpg in my Maverick, along with 18 years of improvements. Some might be happy to leave complaints at home, but I prefer to improve her comfort, rather than to court conflict.
I have tried some after-market seat cushions, but with little improvement . Maybe there is something I missed.
QUESTION: Does anyone have a reasonable way to improve passenger seat comfort in my MAVERICK XLT?
BIGE
I installed the neoprene seat covers sold by ford for the Maverick. It gave us just enough cushion to make them comfortable. The faux leather is not comfortable by itself.

After some prostate process I was in agony a week later in my just delivered XLT on a 5 hour trip. I stopped at Target and bought an oversized decorative faux-sheepskin pillow in the home decor department for $30 that is 16” square and 6”-8” thick. Immediate relief from cloud-like seating. Also gave better front and rear vision- more like riding in a taller vehicle. A bit if a pain getting in and up onto it as it ends to move in slightly in the process but WAY more comfortable even now 5 months later after healing. And I still like the higher vision point as well.

I like the seats in 23 cloth XLT. Had to get cushions for our 22 Mazda CX -30. The 'seat' seat sux with the CX-30 . Ride is a bit bouncy on not smooth roads, otherwise no complaints.

Okay, I am not a couples therapist but, I am 6’2” x 250 lbs and my partner is 5’6” x 135 lbs (don’t tell her I said that). We just completed 10 hours in my XLT and found it very comfortable. Only 1 potty break to adjust the posterior monotony. If your partner can drive, give her the keys to the aviator and directions to the curb. LOL better yet get some gummy bears from a Colorado hippie and tell her to just sit back in the Mav and relax, what a long strange trip shall be had by all… you get a gummy at the end of the trip and a happy wife. Win, Win. Hey maybe couples therapy is an option…

Just finishing the first 1000 miles in my new 2023 hybrid XLT luxury edition. I have driven F-150's since 1995 after discovering that the backaches I was having disappeared when I drove one. My last one, a 2018 XLT with the six, delivered an average of 21 mpg. It never gave me a lick of trouble in 120,000 miles and I planned to drive it til it died. That is, until I realized the Maverick met my needs better and the increase in mpg might well pay for a new vehicle. My biggest fear was that the seats wouldn't work for me. The most pleasant surprise has been that the seat feels just like my old one. The ride, too, feels just like I was used to. My mpg has doubled, so I'm one happy camper.
