Do the extra cushions with these seat covers actually do anything?

With my XL scheduled, I'm a little nervous about seat comfort. I currently have a seat that is pretty adjustable, so my back issues are kept at bay. In looking at seat covers, I see a few that have added pieces. Does anyone know if they actually work?

I used a memory foam pillow back when my back gave me problems. Those look like they'd push you off the seat.

Tried one from Costco and yeah, pushes you WAY too forward. The seat would have to go back way father than it currently does to accommodate
