Sorry. I didn't buy a new vehicle to be blissfully unaware of an issue that will leave me stranded once I become aware of it. That's kinda the point. If this was some third person owned vehicle with 130+k on it... Ok, I'd expect to test the battery and probably replace it when buying it.

It's a great little truck for what it is, but too many people feel it's just not worth the heartache. Lots of people who love their truck report this issue and it's far more than just the Mavericks too... So it is in fact a widespread FORD problem. They have never addressed the issue publicly and they don't care to. Doesn't exactly instill confidence.

I want to clarify that my reason for uninstalling the app was in the hopes it helped. It hasn't. I monitor the battery as well and it's been very low 11 volts constantly - again, non-dome lights, seat warmers and what also appears to be the wiper heaters (just noticed this thanks to the cold). I'm also guessing no heated mirrors but I'll have to confirm it. That's a lot of features being disabled that people pay extra money for.

I had the worst case scenario with my previous Escape Hybrid, multiple times. Does my EB Maverick still start? Yes. But I paid for a truck that has dome lights and other features when I open the doors lol. If it's this much of a problem when it's new, it won't get any better over the life of ownership. I'm not buying new batteries every couple years and I want a warm butt during Montana winters. If the Maverick can't give me those things that I paid for, then I'll find another vehicle that can. If I didn't want the features I would have just bought an XL, but I like the added safety features of the Lariat too so that was another reason I got it.
Yes but....

Are you on your stock battery or your second battery? Lots of evidence a non Ford supplied battery will cure your woes.

We are all grasping at straws, especially those in colder climates, thanks to Ford. Just a FYI to those that may not be aware: deleting the FordPass app does not disconnect your modem from communicating with Ford. You must also disconnect your vehicle under the Settings option on your vehicle display.

From the manual:
If your vehicle has a FordPass Connect modem your vehicle will continue transmitting data to Ford even if you uninstall the FordPass App. You can turn off 'Vehicle Connectivity' via the in-vehicle SYNC system, in the Settings menu and therefore, the sending of data from your vehicle's modem will cease.

Also, disconnect your wifi option so it stops communication with your home internet. Connect every month or two for updates and then disconnect again. Use your key fob to lock your doors two times whenever you leave your vehicle as this shuts down electronics much quicker than just turning off the ignition. Certainly no fixes and ridiculous that this is necessary to try and improve battery performance in any way. Just more straws.

The Maverick was a great idea, the size, styling, ample use of storage, etc. It was fun to drive (when it would start), and very efficient.

Unfortunately, it was built on the cheap and that reared its ugly head for me. Compounded by poor support and resolution of the issues, it was too frustrating to keep.

It is great to have a vehicle that just works.

There is a lot more evidence that it changes nothing. Across the Escape, Bronco and F-150 forums this seems to be the consensus, unfortunately.

I'd like to think the new Ranger would make up for that, but for the cost - it's still pretty ridiculous. What isn't now days? Full size trucks for an average of $70-80k... mid sizes from $40-50k... insanity. If the Colorado/Canyon is any indication on the quality of the new Rangers, I expect to not be impressed. Which sucks - because I think all 3 are great looking trucks. I could see myself in a Ranger Raptor in the future. But, again, cost... is it really worth it to most folks? No. It's a status truck. I think my days of that crap are over.

At least the CEL on my Maverick went away and was likely just due to the cold - but it still leaves me contemplating.

It's a combination of two(2) things, the small low-quality battery....those Spanish T4 Enhanced Cells have no stamina, ability to fully recover from a discharge, and little reserve capacity to begin with. The second issue is Ford's BMS by default limits the SoC (State of Charge) to 80% to increase battery longevity.

I became tired of getting messages every time I had a really short drive, unlocked my truck more than once between drives to get/put something, or was too close for a period of time with the fob in my pocket (Lariat w/Proximity Key). It was simply cheaper to buy a better battery for ~$112 shipped, than the 2-3 hours to visit the dealership. Shoved a Type 47 (single port vent) AGM, and upped the charge to 90%. - The new battery actually stays above 90%, takes a charge MUCH faster, and has reserve capacity to spare, so the post-drive transmissions barely touch the voltage level...I still have the battery monitor connected. (Refreshing to see voltages at 12.8-12.9 volts and >90% SoC).

FWIW I installed a Weize Type 47/H5 AGM battery, which was bought on sale. It's a beast, a good 10lbs heavier than stock, albeit a bit larger. Just need to temporarily pull the housing for the install, and tap down the two bent up retaining tabs. The housing/plastic panels just pull/pop off & on.
How did you up the charge level? Forescan? I'm still hoping not to have these problems, but we will see. Still have not connected vehicle to Ford Pass and may pull fuse 11. Anyone tried disconnecting the BMS?

Tire Pressure Sensor let me know a new Michelin tire was low, the one out of four not made in USA, sorry to bash the canook tire, at least it was made in North America. It read on the speedo screen.

Hmmm? The new Michelin (made in Mexico? Possibly an OEM with less tread? made in Canada? Have different cold weather tread compound?).

The factory Continental tires were very worn at 16K so bought Michelin Defender2 tires which the one made in Canada was leaking. The set of tires, 3 were made in USA, looked identical but the odd tire started leaking and the TPS alerted me, not the stupid APP that drains the battery (s). I never said that these were factory tires, guessing y'all don't read the posts.

I’ve charged my battery to 100% multiple times and followed this. Still get deep sleep. My biggest peeve with my hybrid.
Turn off wifi, auto-updates and Fordpass if you don't use it.

Also, disconnect your wifi option so it stops communication with your home internet. Connect every month or two for updates and then disconnect again.
You must also turn off auto-updates since it automatically reactivates the wifi.

It’s been in the teens the last couple of days and I haven’t had any issue with remote start via ford pass. Before that I got several deep sleep messages. So weird.

The thing definitely has a mind of its own.

Short trips for a month? No issues. Long trip followed by a short trip? Deep sleep.
