If you're referring to the dash tweeters: you don't HAVE to replace them. Car audio purists would say you want to at least disconnect them, as you presumably will now have a coaxial speaker in the door which already has a tweeter and you don't want two drivers playing the same signals from different locations. But it's also completely subjective: some people like the sound with two tweeters.
I am ready to find a different location for the back speakers. They are in an awful location for people riding back there.Here's a timely data point...
I've had the kit for a complete audio upgrade sitting around since May. Life got in the way this summer, and I've just now started installing it. I started with the absolute hardest part: the rear speakers. Below is what I put in (Kicker KSC40s), but not pictured are a ton of Tesa tape and lots and lots of sound mat. Audio stuff was from Crutchfield; tape and sound mat etc. were from Amazon.
I just finished the rear speaker install. I put non-continuous sound mat on the back walls of the cab and inside all the plastic trim pieces. Most of the mat will not stop "road noise" from getting through, but it has made a noticeable difference to resonance and random rattles. The back half of the truck is much more sonically "dead."
As far as the speakers themselves, I already think this is a worthy upgrade. As nobbyv said, I'm going to push the soundstage to the front (technically, I'm going to let the Kicker Key DSP do it), but the clarity in the back is already MUCH better... with $85 speakers, no less. A 4" cone isn't going to "thump," but just the fact that they actually HAVE tweeters helps immensely.
TL;DR rear speakers are worth it, if only because you can take all the trim off and improve the background noise levels with sound mat while you're in there.
Full disclosure: I have not done anything to the system EQ with Forscan yet, and the rear speakers took me maybe 8 hours including the sound mat and tape.

I will take that under consideration,,, NOTYou could do what the full size trucks around here with the Carolina squat do. Fill the bed with speakers and open the sliding rear window so you can hear some of it. Sitting on the porch I can hear them a mile after they pass the house
I thought others mentioned the front speakers didn't get the full spectrum due to there being tweeters directly fed also.

The signal from the head unit has an EQ on it before it is sent to the door speakers. Part of that EQ is likely rolling off the bass at some point (but also boosting midbass to compensate for the cheap components). The signal doubles back from the door speaker and goes up to the dash tweeter, which has a capacitor on it for blocking even more bass. It's janky IMHO, but it accomplished what Ford wanted.
