it’s been in the 30’s last night and woke up to a deep sleep message. I got my battery jumper so I wasn’t worried. But I was wondering if it’s the 12v battery under the seat that is being drained or the hybrid battery? If I was to jump start the truck it would be connecting to the hybrid battery terminal and not the 12v so I guess I would assume it’s the hybrid that is losing power, right?

It's the 12v, lots of us have this issue. Seems to be only charging to around 80% and dying quickly after. I can get about two days if I fully charge it with the battery tender before it goes back. Doubt the dealer will find anything but I dropped mine off this morning for that and water leaking inside.

The 12v AGM (Lead Acid)/ 470 CCA Battery powers a relay that activates/ establishes a connection for the HVB (a.k.a. "traction battery") to power a traction motor which engages the eCVT to get the vehicle rolling under electric power.

At startup - If the 12v battery is dead or detected/ sensed as not having/ holding enough charge or nearing dead - by the Electronic Control Module (ECM) - which monitors the Battery Management System (BMS) - then the ECM (through a "deep sleep" message) warns of an impending shut down of all systems (a.k.a. "Dead Maverick").

It's the 12v battery.

Hi there, Jeffrey. This water leak and battery concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation". I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

Yeah I've been experiencing the deep-sleep messages too, and wasn't overly concerned but then needed to jump the truck yesterday! Only 1500 miles on it. Guess it's time for a check-up...

I thought this issue was from the battery harness cable connection under the hood. Bad crimp or solder joint and was fixed on 2023 models. If on 2023 too is it that cable? Crappy 12 v battery?
