I guess the same could be said about the nut jobs and teenagers driving Mustangs, Challengers, and especially Chargers in this country. They can't even keep it together driving in a straight line.
If you’ve driven all three recent muscle cars, you would understand the Charger doesn’t accelerate in a straight line. If you want to re-live the classic days, that’s the one that still gives me white-knuckle moments. 😓

Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II intended to compete with the Dodge Daytona and Plymouth Super Bird in NASCAR. Very unique car. Sadly only one was built.

The Cyclones with the 429 Super Cobra Jet Engine was a great street racer. Hung right there with the 440 Six Packs.

The upcoming 2.3 EcoBoost Maverick ST would prolly beat them all now but danm those cars back then had loads of personality. Great times for those of us lucky enough to have lived it. (y)

In Shelby Mustangs and Cobras they called that "snake bite" when the factory limited slips would drag the back end left and right during hard acceleration. Thats when they started using traction bars to help tame the sideways motion. My 2012 Gt500 did it until I put on a poor mans IS Fays 2 Watts cross link suspension on it. Tamed it well... brings it straight down and forward!

Yep, 1969 Always loved the Mercury version of Ford products better except for the Cougar. While the Cougar was a nice car I love the Mustang more, especially the Boss 302. Screaming car and handled good to.

Dodge Rampage 82-84. Chrysler being Chrysler watching the Ford attempt fail “then” trying it.

My brother reminded me that he had a Plymouth Arrow pickup (Mitsubishi) before Chrysler built Their own Rampage.

I wish either GM or Ford would have imported their beautiful car based "trucks" from Australia. Some are absolute hotrods straight from the factory.
We had a Pontiac G8GT for 15 years and over in Australia, where it was the Commodore Holden (something like that) they had an "El Camino" type truck version of it. That would have been sharp had it made it to the USA!

That's what I'm talking about! The fact that even some G8s made it stateside is a miracle. I love it.

Those things were horrible. 60K and cracked head.
Buddy of mine while I was at Ft Campbell had a diesel Rabbit. Whenever he came to a stop while running that car would shake like a paint can mixer at Lowes! LOL...! Other than that, ran pretty dang good.....

Fairmonts were very popular in the Pro Stock class due to their large rear overhang and the ability to move weight to the back. Bob’s car was a consistent winner at the time.

IIRC In 1978 Bob Glidden went undefeated for the entire season in the Pro Stock Class with the Fairmont with a 351 Cleveland and it has never happened again!!
