I ordered a 2nd Maverick recently, and got week march 3rd build date allready.

I ordered hybrid fwd, but have a 24 turbo awd maverick I'm keeping as well.

Reading forum seems most posts offering reviews or impressions are primarily AWD.

Admittedly the mpg difference is minor, 1-2 mpg. But $2500ish is noticable increase in price, as well wouldn't think all climates or households need AWD.

So wondering if or how many others have ordered 25 in FWD? Seeing so few posts i feared a bit it might delay production if was limited orders, but actually got build scheduled quick, in just 4 weeks or so.

I'm in the Midwest we get a little snow and ice from time to time in the winter. I've never had a use for 4x4 or awd. If it's that bad I stay home and off the roads, people drive like idiots here in all weather.

I am in Canada and this is the exact same occurrence here, I think stupidity is universal

Yes mine is XLT with FWD and just copilot 360 option. I previously had 23 Lariet Hybrid with FWD.

Perhaps unique situation as traded 23 Lariet for 24 turbo with AWD and 4k tow. If I hadn't and wasn't planning on keeping the 24, I prob would went AWD on 25.

But I wanted to keep turbo as noticably peppier for when wanting to feel young again 😆

But with the year price increases, FWD kept 25 price in line with 24 i got last yr $32k, AWD would raised it a lil over $34k......when didn't really need it as allready have awd maverick

I took delivery on my 2025 Maverick XLT hybrid fwd. (traded in my 2022 fwd. Eco) IMO unless you need the 4K tow package or have exceptional amounts of snow there is no advantage to AWD. A set of snow tires will likely do fine in most snow belt areas with fwd.

If there is "exceptional amounts of snow" just stay home. The loss of $150-500 in wages for the day (if you don't have PTO) is always better than not making it home.

I never had no problems with the 23 lariet in snow, at the time had an awd Kona too. The 24 awd did great in about foot a snow couple weeks ago.

But i also generally don't get out much till least blacktops are starting to get fairly cleared.

With all the debating of AWD vs FWD, everyone seems to forget that until FWD started to become widely available in the 1970's, everyone including those in the northern snow country managed to survive quite well with RWD.

My experience says that FWD is half-way between RWD and AWD in capability, but for most people in urban/suburban settings, FWD is more capability than they really need except in exceptional snowy situations--and sometimes AWD will not be enough. But I still bought AWD because I want the ability to go into rougher situations although I've not had the opportunity to put it to the test.

Here in Seattle the roads aren't safe till the day after a big snow. All the people that shouldn't drive are either staying home (smart) or have their cars in a ditch somewhere. I have an AWD Buru and I can go anywhere but it is useless the first day of snow. Unless you are going to drive on sidewalks you are stuck behind all the folks with bald tires or RWD with no weight in the back.

I see, so the people saying the last year hybrid lariat vs this years lariat, is overpriced, I wonder if they are factoring it now has AWD too
I don't know. There are a few things we got with the price increase. I read that all Hybrid Lariats are now AWD but I don't know about the nonhybrid Lariat. Hybrids started out standard in the base model, then it was an option. Not it is standard again. The Hybrid has to help with with CAFE. I would be curious to know if one costs more to produce than the other.
