Hey Y'all - first post, but new owner of a Maverick Hybrid AWD 4K.

I have searched here and elsewhere about using "fuse taps" and their issues on the Maverick. I'm installing a RedTiger F4 Pro camera (have already installed one on my wife's Honda Hybrid using the cigarette adapter, but mine stays on for 90 minutes and I want only switched on/off - not timed) and I'm having one heck of a time getting the hardwire fuse taps to insert. It ain't happening. I'm now trying to use the Micro3 slot (Fuse 1 and 2) using the Micro2 tap (because it is what I have) and it's is not going in deep enough. Maybe 1/16th of an inch, at best. I have tried using fuse spot 3, but the orientation of the tap is such that the tap "fuses" favor the side where the main power lead (blue/red stripe) bulkhead is impeding the use of the tap, since the source 12v terminal (I'm told) is the upper of the two terminals.

Interestingly, I have found picture(s) here from people who insert the taps upside down, hence bypassing the fuse, but I digress. If I find those posts I may say something.

For what it's worth, I am not electrical slouch. I have made dozens of wiring harnesses for vehicles I've built over the years - but with all my multitudes of terminals and what-nots, this one is kicking my butt. I saw a link to a Micro3 tap someone was using from Amazon, but it's not available for almost 2 weeks and was hoping for a slightly faster solution. Maybe there isn't one. I've also read where people solder a wire to the test point on a fuse. I'd like to see that. Maybe if I grind enough of the fuse away to solder to it?

Any advice is welcomed - and I hope to be of assistance around here as I learn more about this truck. Thanks in advance.

I used the tap mentioned in post #14.
That is the micro3 tap I can't get until almost the 4th of July - for some reason. The images don't show how or why it differs from other taps. Are the terminals longer?

From what I can tell the terminals are all very limited in length and with fuses laying over on their side - that's makes them even shorter since the fuses themselves lay over other fuses.

I honestly can not see how any fuse tap I can find would ever work in fuse #3, with the main wire terminal block being there on the left - unless I was lied to and the 12V source terminal was toward the floor and not toward the windshield. Fuse taps are not unidirectional.

I had my wife buy me a couple fuse assortments. I have hundreds of fuses in stock - but this is the first vehicle I've had with micro2 or micro3 fuses. Dang, fuses have gotten expensive. $15 for 10 fuses.

OK, because patience is not one of my strong suits (I'm lying, but I am one of those who say, "Hey, I can always find an alternative to waiting") I just threw this together to get me down the road. Micro3 fuse - tapped. Had to add an in-line fuse holder and added the two wires for the camera. It'll get 'er dun. The micro3 fuse is still intact, though they feed nothing. Going to apply some liquid electrical tape to the solder joint and put it in.
