I can only imagine, that at 1000 a piece for the escape clusters,

One advantage of a new cluster (or a used one with less miles than your original) is that ForScan allows you to increase the mileage and set it to your original mileage. Right, But there are also many people that wouldn't want to embark on this themselves, that would rather pay someone to do it, Not positive if Ford would do it, but I'm hoping for my trucks sake

Yes I can go through the trip, I can go through my phone calls (accidentally called someone through the instrument panel yesterday), I can see the music playing at the top, the only thing that doesn't work is, the drive modes don't change out of normal (i believe that is from the difference in the buttons between the escape and maverick) and the calm screen. And the already noted Half fuel tank. ALso, a weird thing, I can only turn cruise on when at a complete stop. If I'm driving down the road the cruise on/off does not work. ONce I stop, I can turn it on and use it fine after that.

I'm still hoping that just writing my IPC as built to it, will fix everything, but I'm not touching it until I get my shifter to try paddle shifters.

Damn you XL buyers are cheap af but I gotta give you guys some credit. A lot of you XL owners are willing to tear right into your new Mav and do both physical modifications like this and software modifications through programs like Forscan.

Bought my XL for completely different reasons. For what I've spent so far I could have bought an XLT. For what I'm going to spend I could have an XLT w/lux. pkg., or a Lariat w/o lux. But then, I would be stuck with the XLT interior (Shutter ). I bought the XL because I love the interior and like the idea of painting the steelies black and customizing like my rods in the 60s. Also, don't want to pay for equipment I don't need or use. Anyway, there are lots of reasons for buying an XL that do not translate into money as you indicate.

I bought my XL because the boys in blue marketed it for DIYers and makers, and just about every DIYer and maker I know looks at something they like and thinks "Man, I like that. Can I make something like that, and make it cheaper?"

Actually, after looking at the wiring, if you add a pin 9 and splice it to pin 10 (Circuit VMC11), the cluster should see the one sender as both of its inputs, and you should be OK.

Again, anything done from here on out is on your own, but the Part # for the Ford terminal to go in the empty pin 9 slot is DU2Z-14474-AA

Yeah but that guy also told XL owners to use Rostra.... He basically just took the info from Jalopnik and changed the words and did no research on his own. So he can pound sand. Poor people splicing wires to have to deal with such an ugly cruise control stalk...

I put on Rostra CC and it sucks. Now have oem CC and happy.

Ford keeps sending me letters about my previous two fords...
anywhoooooooo I'm excited to see what you do next! With the amount of physical changes you've made I'd be excited to see more simple programing changes with Forscan to see what else we can change on the more "simple" spectrum of things. I'd also be curious if escape seats would transfer over.
