For me I waited 8 plus months until my Maverick was built. My Maverick is being shipped now.

Can not see me driving a vehicle with
21 City/26 Hwy/23 Combined MPG

Sorry. I have been spoiled by my C-Max for years now
42 city / 38 highway

Good luck..

Hello All Current and Future Maverick Customers

We fully recognize there is a lot of interest and excitement about the Maverick. We are here to answer your questions and be as transparent with you as possible about any confusion in the ordering, scheduling, and production process. Rest-assured, our goal is to build as many Mavericks as we can and satisfy as many new Maverick customers as possible given global supply chain challenges.

Traditionally, we have allocated vehicles to dealerships based on historical sales data, which helped determine the scheduling of orders. While we initially followed this process for Maverick, we quickly pivoted when customer demand exceeded expectations. As a result, orders are scheduled in the order in which they are received, regardless of dealer, pending any capacity and commodity limitations. Oldest Maverick retail orders are prioritized first, provided the Dealer has completed the required Customer Order Verification Process (COVP) AND the order can be scheduled within existing supply and optional features/package availability.

Thank you for your interest in Maverick and your patience during this process. Our goal is to build as many Mavericks as we can so you can get out there and enjoy the 2022 North American Truck of the Year.
Lol.

Posted here. Wednesday.

Couple weeks ago had a face to face with order manager. Asked what happens if my 2022 order cannot be built as a 2022?

His response.

If we cannot get some 2022 orders we will not cancel any unfilled 2022 orders, you slide to a 2023. Keep your place in line.

You will be contacted if you want to continue with the 2023. There may be package changes features added or removed compared to what you have ordered. Decide at that point what if any changes you would like to make

I believe Tim Bartz has mentioned that changing options doesn't affect your order but changing engine or trim does.
I know that in the letter sent to dealers on Feb. 22 Ford said that changing the trim level would change the order date, but my question is whether this policy applied before that announcement. I ordered in July and changed trim level in September. I see the September date was used to shedule production. Can anyone else confirm that a change in trim level made before Feb.22 changed their order date too.

Anyone with a 2022 order that is getting pushed to 2023 will not need to order on the first day (August 16). And 2022 order holders will get treated as if their order date is their orginal 2022 order date so they should be in front of all the August 26 2023 and later orders.

That all sounds reasonable, but I wasn't aware that Ford had announced how they were going to handle this.

Actually, I've heard several different things that probably can't all be true:
  • Orders will be automatically rolled over and you don't have to do anything.
  • You have to work with your dealer to resubmit your order.
  • Your order priority will be based on your MY 2022 order date.
  • You need to order on the first day so you get a good priority date.
  • Your dealer will contact you about what to do.
  • You have to keep track of this and contact your dealer.
Maybe somebody has the definite word on this. I can't tell where @Automate got his information. @olderbudwiser got his from his dealer, but I can't tell if that is a nationwide policy or just what his dealer is planning to do.

If I were in that position, I would keep a close watch on what Ford says and stay in contact with my dealer until things straighten out.

Agree he was not under oath.

I can do what ever I want. Maverick, (Ford) Kia, Toyota, GM. To me really makes no difference. Would kinda like a little truck. But not gonna be forced into anything.

I got my information from Tim Bartz (Ford Video Guy), I trust him over just about any other dealer and about as much as I do anything from Ford. Besides, he has been through this exact same situation with hundreds of Bronco orders.

Great! I must have missed that announcement.

I thought the last thing I heard him say about this was something about needing to get with your dealer in August to do something about your order because of possible price or equipment changes in MY 2023.

Anyway, assuming it was a video, can you tell me which one it was? I'd like to watch it and get this a little clearer in my mind. Thanks...

I think you just confirmed it

I'm guessing this quick pivot occurred sometime last week. :) However, I am glad they made the change regardless of when it was impleminted.
