Fuel door push-to-open conversion?

I think I read we got to push a button to open the fuel door.
Any way to convert it to like my Taurus? Push the fuel door to latch and unlatch from outside?

God I hope there’s no door release. Just assumed we’d get the same non locking/capless system Ford has been using for years.

If you have the Ecoboost you just push on the fuel door to unlatch it open. Hybrid has the interior push button as the system has to depressurize before opening.

Owners manual confirms Hybrid does in fact a push button in the cab to open the fuel door. Oh well, at least we won’t have to use it but every 500 miles. Hahahah.

Too bad. I love the push to open feature my VWs have had. Incidentally, it is a locking cap; P2O only works when vehicle is unlocked.

It’s not a vapor canister issue. It’s pressurized to keep the fuel better longer.

So they put a pressurized system on the hybrid only because.... future PHEV and they don’t want fuel going stale on plug in commuters???

I guess they have a hybrid and must be too lazy to press the easy access fuel open button inside on the lower left but would rather have the press-to-open fuel door and harm the hybrid because the pressure was not released properly

The last two vehicles we have owned a 2009 Honda CR-V and 2015 Honda Fit had interior pull levers to open the fuel door.

I for one am glad the the fuel door on my hybrid is not press-to-open from the outside.
