I quit buying overpriced 3D printed garbage off Etsy. Produced by anybody who bought a 3D printer and now fancy themselves as a some kind of engineer and manufacturer.

Mabett sells a cubby insert. That secures into position and is removable. It has 2 storage areas. One is on the top and is concealed when the cubby is pushed in. It is pictured with the coins. The other is where the gray mat is on the bottom. Perfect size for a mini garage door opener.
The cheapest version at comes with a 17 mm ball mount along with the magnetic phone mount. I use a different phone mount and I also use the mount for my Garmin GPS.

I did exactly the same thing! The Mabett insert fits perfectly!
I can’t use the magnetic phone holder so I bought one very much like the one you show in your pic. Works great!!

I used Gorilla Tape and put my garage door opener vertically in that cubby. Nice easy reach and no opener hanging on my visor.

Does anybody have any good ideas on what to use the front storage pocket next to the touch screen? Things I try to put in there fall out when I step on the gas (and No, I don't have a lead foot).

The wife has a little stuffed Husky whose home is in the cubby. His main job is to disable the auto stop/start function when we start up the Mav.

I found the perfect use for that wasted space of a cubby. It holds my season pass for skiing.
