Yes, you must be able to use ford pass to remotely start your truck to have the capability of adding the remote fob. Sometimes Ford Pass can be a little glitchey depending on your internet connection and that's why having a remote start key fob may be desirable, especially for only $30 to $40 for the fob itself. I think the dealerships can and do charge hundreds of dollars to add it for you.

You can start your Mav with your FordApp?
You just need to know the MHZ in your key fob

Does this work for 24 hybrids? I have remote start on ford pass.

I use the Ford pass app on my phone to remote start it every day in winter. There were a couple of occasion when it was in deep sleep mode and it wouldn’t work.

I own a MY24 Lariat (that may change how the new fob works with an XLT vs a LARIAT.) My two original fobs already had that remote start capability. I did purchase two additional fobs and programmed them exactly as the video showed and they are now my primary carry fobs.

The 22 to 24 Maverick Lariat has sync 3 and push to start. The XL and XLT do not have Sync 3 or push to start. XL &XLT have "Connected Touch Radio" and you have to use a key.
Therefore there is no way to just add a Key FOB Start without an additional piece of equipment whether it's a car alarm or something like "babutruk" posted below.

I bought this after I picked up my MY24. Amazon looks like there are several options. Never opened the box

This may be a case of me learning more differences between Lariat and XL. My 25 Tremor came with the remote start on the key fob and in the app. Is that an option on all trim levels or is this about enabling remote start on the XL / XLT?

Don't drive enough and/or use the 12V system while not running for long enough - sure, you can get Deep Sleep Mode and no remote access to truck.
Or it sits unstarted for 14 days.

Having the remote start on keyfob doesn't prevent that, as your question sounds like.

With Remote start on keyfob it doesn't matter.
Fob is sending request directly to the truck.

So if in an area with no cell coverage for your phone, or AT&T for the truck - doesn't matter.
