I think this one is actually on Ford rather than the dealer for this ordering error. Ordering that discount package was about as clear as mud.

We made the same mistake when I ordered mine. Took a screen shot of this forum and sent it to the dealer. He kept re-running the order until we got it right.

Well, you can still ask for them to remove the crossbars even after it is listed on the Malroney sticker. The reason I say this is because many people negotiate having dealer installed add-on costs removed when they negotiate purchasing a new car. In this case, the crossrail add-on might have been due to a misunderstanding between you and the dealer. Not sure of the dynamics of what went on between you and the dealership. So I can't comment on what was said. There's never a problem with at least asking. They may say no, but there is a chance they might say yes, to removing the cross rails and adjust the price to reflect the removal. What do you have to lose by asking? Just my humble opinion.

I agree and with that being said, I think there is plenty of opportunity to just have the cross rails uninstalled and the price adjusted. I know at least at my dealership there were definitely system issues with Ford that made the process of adding the CMS to an existing order with a SIBL.

Okay. if I understand correctly, I am getting the cargo management system (d-rings and side rails) and the dealership also added on the cross bars by not understanding what was included in the free CMS offer from Ford. Not really wanting the cross bars, tbh. I don't know what I would ever use them for. I hope I can get them removed or, at the very least, discounted.

I hope things go well for you. It should be super easy to have the cross bars removed. Some folks put bike systems or cargo baskets or other things on the rails. If you have no need for these items, then just tell them. They want you to be happy with your purchase and you should get exactly what you want from a custom order.

I'm hopeful that they can be removed. If not, I'm not going to pitch a fit. All things considered, the dealership did a good job and treated me well. If this is the only hiccup, I'd consider myself lucky. I've read horror stories on here about people's orders getting messed up and things being added to the price without their consent. All in all, I'm a happy guy who will be driving a new Tremor in a few weeks. 🤞

There was a lot of confusion both with the salespeople and the ford ordering system regarding the free cargo management system for orders with SIBL. It had to be placed in the system with the correct code. It would be the 6 D link cargo management system in their ordering system but it would be the last item in that section not the first one. I think it is 61D. Anyway, when we found out about it, we immediately went to our dealership and requested the cargo management system and gave them the Dora code. We knew about the deal before they did and evidently before the system did. I brought them the article released from Ford so they knew it was legit. Anyway, it did not update in the system, so it showed it would cost $225, but the manager stated it would be deducted from the new customer order sheet they had to generate to reflect the addition of the cargo management system. The CMS is just the bedrails and 2 tie-down cleats, that I think replaces two tie downs in the bed for the Lariat which is supposed to have a total of 10 tie downs.

Anyway, there was nothing costing $335, so I think someone mistook the CMS for crossbars, which should be easy enough for them to exchange and correct on your order. Our lariat order had the proper CMS and deducted the $225 that had previously been added. So all is well.

Not sure whether changes can be made after scheduling, but I think so, especially for an accessory item such as this.

Hope everything works out for you.
This guy nailed it.

The "6 D-link connectors" is the WBDO/window sticker name for the sliding cleat cargo rails that are part of the discount. But I think some sales managers got confused by that and so also ordered the crossbar kit which match the $335 price.

Yeah my dealer did the same thing but don’t mind the cross bars so I didn’t ask them to remove it

So did mine. Dealer was clueless about order codes till I told him. Discount shows on sticker. I was crossing fingers till I saw it. Now I’m glad I sprung for Berliner. I ordered rubber mat with ford pass Points.

The $335 sounded familiar, I noticed the dealer added $335 to install the cargo management system. I was planning on confronting them if it built, is this normal though?

Have them look at what the option code is for that $335 item. If it's BMWAB then it's crossbars that aren't necessary for the discount.

The '6 D-LINK BED CONNECTORS' higher up should be option code 61D for the bed tie-down rails that are part of the package.
