The nice thing about living in the greatest country on earth is that we all have the right to voice our opinions (at least for now). We all understand that things are not normal right now (hopefully this is not the new normal). However, no matter what people who ordered first should have their trucks first....if there are constrained items or dealer allocation issues tell us and give us options on how to proceed. Lack of information and communication from Ford is total BS. But why should they care. They have the market cornered. Well maybe not. With my July order not scheduled yet I jumped ship and bought a Santa Cruz. More than I wanted to spend but so far very pleased. And long term I think I will be much happier.
I just emailed 3 dealers this morning. If I can find a white limited with no markup I’ll likely buy and abandon my maverick order. I like the styling of the Santa Cruz way better, I just don’t like the added sticker price, but you get much more so….

Hello all, I first joined this forum in dec.21, I knew this forum existed earlier but only joinned after I got a Maverick. First of, I mean no offense to those who will get offended but stop your complaining. This is a rant, if you dont like what im writing, then you can simply leave this thread. No hard feelings. I initially thought this forum was a good place to gather information and ideas for the Maverick, share projects and etc. But as of late, I found this forum to be very annoying and full of complaints. Its always about people complaining about how FORD or their dealerships markups and mess ups. I guess you can say im one of the lucky ones who received a Maverick in Nov.21. But I dont think I was lucky, I went to 8 total dealerships in my region. All had markups, no budging on pricing. I kid you not, I bought my Maverick, although it may be a XL trim ( i personally dont care ) sight unseen. After 7 dealership visits, I came to the conclusion, if i wanted this vehicle, id have to settle. placing an order was supposely going to take 3 months....which i doubted.. sounded like 6 to me. Guess i wasnt wrong about that. I settled for a maverick that was built by the dealership, i purchased it from and bought it sight unseen, knowing it wasnt going to be the maverick i exactly want, wasnt the color i wanted, wasnt the trim or options i wanted. but honestly i needed a vehicle, and i wanted the maverick. It came in 2.5 weeks later, i love my XL, yah its a lower trim, but its a functional car. Im a license mechanic, i know the more fancy stuff you want, the more problems it comes with. These vehicles are meant to be workhorses...theyre not a 6 figure vehicle you should be complaing about little things. What im trying to say is, you guys gotta stop complaining...this forum is full of complaining about production, about pricing, and its like a watchdog of Fords production line. Its kinda annoying. People need to understand its not FORDS fault, well not fully. Yah they could have done better...nobodies perfect, especially a cooperation like Ford that has 1 simply job...to create revenue for their shareholders...thats the honest fact...they are a business..theyre not here to screw you consumers over, althought it may seem that way. Covid19 has done lots of damage to society, and also to businesses. A shortage of parts is clearly indicated. A supply chain disruption....literally means a a link in a CHAIN has been broken and things will get delayed...people need to understand that...If you had an order and it wasnt filled...it sucks but its fricken reality...you guys need to stop complaining and pointing fingers...if you want the car bad enough...pay the premium...or stop whining. Thats the world we live in now.. stuff has gone up in $, looking at production #'s arent going to change anything. Stalking Ford isnt going to fix anything. All it takes is 1 chipset to not be available to stop a whole line up of vehicles from being built. There are more important things in life then complaining about how your Maverick isnt built... you wanted a hybrid. that comes with fricken semi conductors....which is a shortage.. suck it up. I wanted the hybrid too, but i know better then ordering one and hoping it will arrive at the promised time frame, 100% knowing there was a semiconductor shortage...anyone with a capable mind would understand those things come hand in hand.. so please stop complaining about production dates and crap when it wont change anything, you dont run the factory, you have ABSOLUTELY no control... wait or pay the price its going to cost. THATS HOW THE WORLD WORKS...capitalisms at its finest. This thread will probably get hated on, but i voice my opinion knowing so. Im just tired of coming onto this forum and seeing the SAME crap about production or markups. from every other thread thats created.. so annoying.
TL:DR

And the difference is significant. The price difference between Maverick at MSRP and SC at MSRP for similar trim/equipment is very noticeable. Then add the going SC ADM, the delta difference between an ordered Mav and a lot SC may be $6k - $12k!

Well, I won’t pay adm so that’s a nonissue. I’ll be stepping up to a limited trim which is a lot nicer than the lariat. The added warranty is worth a couple grand anyway. I have an xlt 4K and fx4 only options on order and it’s at 29k. That’s the limit for me with the maverick. The Santa Cruz at around even 12k more is worth it in my opinion. I’d rather spend the 29, but if you can’t get one, you can’t get one.

Well shoot, if my budget was pushing past the $30k mark, I'd own a completely different vehicle too. But that's the limit I set for myself and the closer to $20k than $30k, the better.

I don’t have a budget per say. I’m just cheap. But if I’m spending 40k, the Santa Cruz is the nicer vehicle.

seems to be a lot of "I want" on here
Question: can the dealer fiddle with the onboard chip/computer and turn of the dlng-a-ling/loud beep sound the car makes whenever you walk away from it and lock the car from the key fob? Some car beeps s are so loud the scare children and rattle sleeping birds
Thank You

I understand that you can use Forscan to make it play Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

It still scares the children, but it's way worth it... :devilish:

Not really especially if you want AWD

Santa Cruz SE and Mav XLT both around $27K
Santa Cruz SEL and Mav XLT Lux both around $30K

I'm cross shopping a Santa Cruz SEL AWD with my Mav XLT Lux FX4 order. MSRP is very nearly the same.

Simple solution you have your so just move on and enjoy your new truck 😉

Yes simple solution you have your truck so just move on and allow us to wallow in self pity waiting for our trucks
I think you misunderstood. I was posting to the OP. I think everyone should post what they want. I have no issues with that.

Yes, I imagine you will be one of the very few people my comment will not apply to. It will be largely true.
