I’m still hopeful that tariffs force Ford to move all of the Mexico operations back inside the 48.

I believe that because Ford has continually raised Maverick prices mostly because the market would bare it (it was underpriced initially), puts them in a much better position to absorb much of these tarriffs. Not the case for the Bronco Sport or Mach-E.

just curious why you think that? The Ford Trucks that are made in the US have far poorer reliability ratings than the Maverick…just saying. And also, how much will the increase in labor costs affect the price when they are manufactured here? Not sure it’s enough to force Ford’s hand.

The Ford/Mazda joint venture plant was already there in Mexico. Ford simply bought Mazda's interest in the building...then Ford invested $1.2 Billion in robotics and assembly lines to build the Maverick, Bronco and other trucks there...Ford can not very easily financially walk away from $1.2 billion in robotics and assembly lines to move back to the US.

If I were to purchased a 2025 Lariat with the same features it would be $44.5K. That's 10k more than what I paid for my '23.

I paid $4,500 more for my 25 than my 2023, but I got $2,750 more options than my 23 had. So net $1,750 more over 2 years. Not bad for me.

Kinda interesting that Ford is not announcing that they will move assembly of the Maverick and Bronco Sport to the the plant in Louisville that is being re-tooled for something else with Escape production ending since they all share the same platform. To me that says that Ford is either going to drop these vehicle completely if / when they stop selling because the price makes no sense, or they believe the administration will reverse course down the road.

Trying to be non-political about this since all these threads end up locked, but when you look at what vehicles are being re-shored to American plants, it's only low hanging fruit that is easy to do so far. On one hand those are wins, but on the other, when total vehicle production is still projected to fall, and we're already seeing large idling and layoffs in the steel industry and other ancillary industries, that feels like winning $10 on lotto cards when you spent $50.
