I bought the Ford service plan for my 2024 XLT Hybrid that covers 75,000 miles or March 2030 whichever comes first. Just did the 1st service last week (I drive a lot less now). It included the usual safety checks but also included full oil change with parts, windshield wipers replaced, and tire rotation. When other mileage goals are met also will include any air filters, coolant, etc needed or recommended.

I know some say oil changes should be like around 5000 miles but the Ford dealer said for normal driving (highway/city) 7500 miles is OK. I looked at the oil mileage meter on the App and it said about 15% life left on the oil. I also know I paid for the plan up front but it was nice to get all that done and get a invoice with all n/c's on it. FYI at the dealership I go to I get to make a reserve appointment and they put you in on time and will completed in about 1 1/2 hours they say. They also explained that I have a total of 10 full oil changes in the package and wiper's are changed every 6 months weather I am at the next 7500 miles or not which I thought was great. They said just bring the truck in and they will send a tech out right away and I will be off in 15-20 minutes if it is only wiper replacement being done.

Being 65+ my days of normal stuff are done. I got no desire to get under a car or truck and figure out fluid disposal also. With the type new oils and fluids it seemed a no brainier to me as I am pretty sure they use synthetic's .

Just my 2 cents and wonder what you all think of that Ford plan. It did not seem that expensive also considering for me it will be 5+ years to get to 75,000 miles.

If you drive mostly highway, the gas engine will run a lot more. City, around half as much, at least in my driving habits. The OLM takes gasoline motor time/miles driven into account, not strictly miles driven. After the first two initial oil/filter changes (first at 3k and second one at 8k), I now get it changed when the OLM says I'm around 20% oil life left - OR every 12 months, per Ford recommendations.

I buy my own oil (Mobil 1 0w-20 fully synthetic) and Motorcraft FL-910S filter, and get my trusted local mechanic to change it for under 30 bucks labor. He also includes the 10k checkups in that price.

Some stealerships are using a synthetic blend, which is cheaper for them, but not what ford recommends. It should say on your receipt what kind of oil they use. If not, I would question the stealership further.

I bought the extended warranty and the service plan for exactly that reason. Something needs to be fixed, I call the dealer. Fix it. Thank you.

My post would be a carbon copy of 'Ziggystardust' . Only changes would be: I'm 75+ and a bad back, my service plan is 5yrs, oil changes 6 months or 8000km (5000miles).
Bonus for me is winter/seasonal tire/wheel change, they rotate the tires/wheels on the car, into storage and the off season tires onto the truck.

I change all drivetrain fluids every 5000 miles. Engine/Filter,PTU,RDU on my AWD. Less than $200. once a year for me. Easy to do for this 89 YO enthusiast.

Question I have is the value. What is the cost of the plan?

Just my two cents, wiper blades shouldn't need replaced every 6 months, that's a money grab. I have the original blades on my 15 year old ram. Our 3 year old maverick sits outside, the blades are fine.i also believe tire rotations are another money grab.again, factory tires have never been rotated on my ram, they all look the same at 41,000 miles not trying to be a dick here, just food for thought 😃

Not to be rude but, blades can degrade faster in some climates than others. Sun and ice come to mind.
Tire rotation and proper inflation are things to help the life of tires. As well as keep you safe. I will admit I don't notice as much shoulder wear on my vehicles front tires nowadays with front wheel drive as I have with rear wheel drive vehicles in the past. But I also mainly drive highway or interstate. My Silverado did good with tires but I took care of them and my front end. Sold it two weeks ago, getting ready for the new Maverick. Oh and my old man was a tire builder. He was anal about taking care of your tires especially on motorcycles.
And I hope I'm misunderstanding but your Ram has 41,000 miles, 15 years old and has original OEM tires? Dude, tread may look good but I'd bet the sidewalls are shit. That's like waiting for trouble.
Again my apologies and I hope I'm wrong.

All vehicle manufactures have a phrase something like "or as conditions dictate." If you pull the dipstick and the oil smells like gas, or is dark in color, white on the dipstick (water), or low, IMO, it should be topped off or changed regardless of mileage. There are threads on this site about very dark transmission fluids at 30,000 miles. One contributor suggested changing fluid at 20,000 miles - I will check at 20,000 and change if needed.

I change my fluids most of the time, However, on occasion, I will pay for service. Pep Boys replaced my 15mm hex drain plug with a 14mm that was cracked halfway through. A Chevrolet dealership torqued a drain plug to 150+ foot-pounds - it took a breaker bar to remove the plug. Both firms received the appropriate scathing interviews.

Protect your investment. Don't take the manufacturer's recommendations as gospel. Service people are human beings and should be viewed carefully. As a president once said, "Trust but verify."

No offense taken.yes original factory tires. I also have an antique...a 72 cuda, just replaced the tires on it this past summer ,they were 30 years old. Sidewalls on both vehicles looked like new. Those 2 vehicles are stored inside, unlike our maverick, so I'm sure the tires on the maverick won't last as long.

One challenge is that most dealers have low priced staff doing oil changes and maintenance work. And it is a loss leader. They want to upsell other services.

There are many reports on this forum and FB of Ford dealers not replacing the engine splash shield correctly, installing only 1/2 the bolts or worse. On the hybrid, the splash shield is held on by 15 bolts. When I change the oil on my Mav myself, I put back the splash shield in its grooves and replace all 15 bolts. Most dealers are not doing that. A lot of dealers are also using semi-synthetic on these oil changes to reduce their cost (including the dealer where I bought my Mav), but the hybrid calls for full synthetic. For tire rotations, the Maverick is lifted by the pinch welds, which would seem to be in the dealer's wheel house, but there are also reports of dealers lifting incorrectly.

A buddy of mine has a Toyota Tacoma which came with a couple years of free maintenance, and he has spent more time correcting dealer errors than if he had just done his own oil changes as he normally does. On his Taco, his dealer used a screw gun and cross threaded a number of splash shield bolts + only replaced part of the splash shield bolts. His dealer also put back a dirty cabin filter and did not even replace it. So he now back to doing his own maintenance as "free" was not really free.

Your dealer may be great, but many are not. Check the dealer's work if you use the dealer for maintenance.

I just bought a 24 lariat and asked our Ford service manager and they said every 5000 miles. And then I checked with our local tire and oil place and they affirmed every 5000 miles. So with those two inputs that’s where we’re going every 5000 miles

to answer Skeeter163 question. I paid about $2000 Canadian for my 23 XLT. 5 years 100000km (60000Miles) with changes at 6months or 8000km (5000miles) with full synthetic oil.
That was the '22 pricing from when I ordered the Maverick. The dealer and Ford honoured the '22 pricing on both the vehicle and the maintenance plan if purchased at the sane time. If I had waited to purchase the maintenance plan, it would then be at the current '23 price, approx.$2700
Canadian.
The Ford dealer price for for the routine maintenance package is $132 Canadian, oil, filter, tire rotation, check and report on tires, tread depth abnormal issues, check brakes pad thickness etc. and more.
Last time I checked the local oil changers drive thru types were charging $90 regular oil, $100 semi synthetic and $110 for premium or full synthetic oil and filter changes and they won't even check tire pressures, afraid of break TPMS sensors.
