I got this email too. What's funny is that the local Hyundai dealer reached out on the same day to say they have some Santa Cruzes in production/transit and would do a deal for MSRP. Is this a sign?

Yes got one as well and did post in the wrong thread. Guess it means Ford has realized their communication shortfall and at least gave us an email to read. :)

I got two e-mails last evening because I have two ordered in my name.

1) hybrid XLT with 360, Velocity blue

2) hybrid Lariat Lux, trifold hard cover, spray-in liner, velocity blue

Both ordered first week of September

I told the dealer to cancel the XLT order the day I ordered it and replace it with the Lariat order.
Gave him an A-plan pin for the Lariat but not for the XLT.
Asked that the $200 deposit to dealer be transferred from XLT order to Lariat.

Dealer did not cancel the XLT order as I requested.
Ford still has me in line for 2 Mavericks.
Dealer is probably hoping to get the XLT to sell off the lot.

I may take delivery of both and re-sell the XLT.

We ordered our XLT EcoBoost — very basic, no extras except cruise control — on 1/25/2022. (Right before they stopped taking orders for 2022 models). And we got this notice last night as well.

As others have noted, it’s just about useless. Other than to reassure you that your order is still in Ford’s system.

Somewhere.

The Ford PR department surely could have done better.

@fordvideoguy have you noticed there are two versions of this email out there? Any thoughts on the why some got one version vs. the other? The more common one says something about certain features sometimes lengthening the time it takes to schedule and produce a vehicle (i.e., the same constraints we all know about). The less common variation says something about wanting to make sure the vehicle is assembled properly.

Thankfully, my vehicle has already shipped and I didn't receive either version. I think it's great that Ford sent something out, though, if only to let folks know their orders haven't been forgotten.
Probably not, but maybe Ford IS listening and this is the start of better communication ? We'll soon know if this is the case.
Not true I am scheduled for week of 3/28 so they have my email but didn’t get this message.

I didn’t get this email and I’ve checked all the folders including spam. Ordered hybrid XLT lux on 10/13. Nuttin’ since.

ETA although I got the confirmation email on 10/13 it didn’t come from ford directly. My dealer forwarded it to me. Is that something to be concerned about? I called my dealer two weeks ago to make sure everything was ok and they said it was clean/unscheduled which is where you want to be if you haven’t gotten a build date yet, correct?

You are spreading misinformation! I didn't get this email, but I did get an email confirming that my production date is for the week of 4/11, so I obviously do have an email address in Ford's system!

Please stop with your hysteria, making people worry needlessly! Very irresponsible!

Pin only good for 6 months, and if you use plan you are supposed to keep for 6 months before selling, or risk losing future plans.

Yes, nothing in spam. But if I received an email from Ford providing my build date, obviously they have my email! For you to conclude that because some folks didn't get this useless update email, that they are not in Ford's system, is bad
information!

Thanks for the info.
I did not know about the expiration of a pin on an order already placed. Seems a bit unreasonable when it's Ford's fault it took so long for delivery but then, nothing has been all that reasonable about this ordering and delivery.

Since the XLT doesn't have a pin associated with it, it seems I could buy it at the price quoted at order and then re-sell without endangering pin eligibility in the future.

I wonder if it's possible to get another pin issued when the current one expires or if I have to wait for delivery of the vehicle.
