Can someone post a dash infotainment pic of what built in maps looks like , does it show the full map / directions or just a block with upcoming turns ?

There is no built in maps / GPS, even on the top trims. It does have Carplay/Android Auto and both work well and consistent with any other car, including upcoming turns and lane recommendations along with the full map view.

The 2023 Lariat Lux now has GPS Nav, though I'd still use Waze/Google Maps.
I believe you have to pay for map updates after a year or three as well.

Lariat with lux package comes with Sync3 and built-in navigation.

That's the main SYNC3 screen in the center stack. The NAV setting in the speedo cluster shows turn-by-turn info and arrows, but I'm sure it's much different than the one in the Mav. Sorry - not much help here.

Looks like maybe Ford listened to customers... When I did my survey I made a point to say "add navigation to the sync 3 for the Lariat Lux". Probably a few others chimed in with similar thoughts.

There’s a YouTube video it looks like a pretty decent amount of work. You have to add a navigation module behind the radio.

One of the first things I did after I got my 2022 Hybrid Lariat Maverick was to buy a navigation system. You can mount it on your dash and it is easy to install. The price is right too, depending on what options you want, including size of screen. No cell phone or outside connections required. You can update it from your home computer. This thing is so detailed about where you are at, it will even let you know when you come up on a school zone if you are not don't know the area.
I have had them in other vehicles before and even on a motorcycle. Even if I had the option of getting a built-in system, I would still get the Garmin.
