We have a 2018 Coachman Clipper 107LS. Bought it used for ~$6k. It's a pop-up and has A/C, heat, sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids comfortably, has a cooktop and sink, but notably no bathroom or shower. It clocks in ~1,800lbs dry and we always go to campsites, so use shore power / water.
The hybrid...
Did you cross shop the Fas-Top? Curious why it wouldn't meet your needs. I have one and other than it being pretty ugly (like all toppers, really), it's held up well for weekend camping expeditions and then folding right back up the rest of the time.
Hey @Frank McGervey - can you provide any insight on your setup, please? Do you have a 7 to 4 pin converter? Or some other setup? A brake controller? Sway bar? Any other tips?
Looks like more than a few of us are very curious about your setup and would love to know how difficult it is before...
Scratching my head here... Why would you purchase them and then make them the same as the stock ones? Why not just... save some money and keep the stock ones?
I also purchased a set of Lasfit bulbs and returned them. They are obnoxiously (and maybe dangerously for other drivers) bright.
This happens in my Mav and it's one of my few gripes (first world problems, right?)... It randomly ramps up to the equivalent of 3-4, even though it's set at 1. No clue what purpose it serves...
I'll try to answer a bunch of these at once:
What is it? Basically a variant of supercruise / autopilot. It makes the lane centering MUCH better. In certain modes it will stop at stop signs and red lights. It also manages stop-and go traffic without having to hit the gas to get going each time...
I have a '22 Lariat Hybrid with 360 and Copilot. I purchased the Comma 3x about a year ago and it was an absolute pain to get to work because it wasn't officially supported - requiring a bunch of work to get it up and running. I had to create my own fork, tweak the fingerprinting, and reinstall...
For the edge cases, Starlink will be great. Like when you're out in the middle of nowhere and stationary long enough to setup and align the antenna. For 95% of the rest of the time, why not get a phone on something like Visible, use the hotspot to connect to a travel router and have a setup that...
I think Nissan introduced that feature a while ago and seen it on a few GM and Honda vehicles as well. But no, not on the Mav... Sadly, you'll have to shell out $2 for a handheld pressure gauge or go into the vehicle and check on the dash. I'll press f to pay respects.
I had X-Plan on my Mav, so thankfully the entire closing process was very simple and very fast. The conversation about the extended warranty went like this:
Finance Guy: You should buy an extended warranty...
Me: Yes, I would like one. Can you match Flood's pricing? If so, sign me up, please...
Very cool and thanks for posting. I was thinking about this, but concerned it would require a trip into FORscan that I try to minimize... Do you happen to have a part number? Where did you buy yours? All that I can find on ebay are the smaller version without the vents.
As far as I know, and I've been lurking for a while, nobody with the right combination of skill, disposable income, and bravery has come along. Is it you???
That's really your call. I've been incredibly happy with it, but having some technical skill is helpful if you need to do any troubleshooting. They do have a 30 day return policy, so you can try it and send back if you can't get it working. The more Mav users that have it, the more focus I hope...
There are some folks that have retrofitted the ACC with factory parts and FORScan updates. It can be done and details are in another thread somewhere. My understanding is that some have gotten OP to work with it, but I don't know the details.
There aren't really many / any that I found besides the Discord channel. Go to the Comma.Ai discord channel and then the Ford sub-channel. That's where everything is, sprinkled between discussions on other Ford vehicles. You can search for "maverick" or "hybrid" to find relevant info.
The basic...
I have the 3X up and running on my '22 Lariat Hybrid (with ACC and Lane Centering).
It was an absolute PITA to install. The cables are simple enough, but the firmware doesn't support the Mav, at least my model, right off the bat. There is an issue with the Hybrids where a checksum error gets...
