Guys, the slogan is for when order banks reopen. The marketing team has to be ready for it ahead of that. Like they have to prep ads for the fall now.

And the number of folks who seem to think the marketing team is going to drive down to Mexico and jump on the assembly line... is weird. Y'all know that's weird, right?
Think your sarcasm detector is broken….

Some of these people are sarcastic.

Many are not.

But, I should note, the same joke over and over again is also tiring. 😆

Marketing and production are 2 different teams with 2 different budgets.

And marketing usually takes time to plan, produce and distribute, it will probably arrive about the time they re-open ordering. Which honestly, I think ordering will be the norm for car buying.

There may be a few standard builds on lots for those that just can't wait, but I think in general, manufacturers will produce based more on orders and reduce the excess that builds up over the model year, as well as go to straight up MSRP pricing.

Here's the price, here's your add-ons, here's your total. It will be here in 4 weeks. I think that is the future.
It makes sense. Instead of putting lots of vehicles on lots, and then having to offer all sorts of incentives to get them to move, why not only ship vehicles that have been ordered with maybe a demonstrator or two for the dealer?

It works well for everyone. The manufacturer knows they're only shipping vehicles with firm orders. The dealer doesn't have to worry about something that doesn't sell eating up the holdback. And the customer gets the vehicle they want with all of the options they want and none that they don't.

Maybe the 2023 Mavericks will come with inverters and a FITS package with power tools so we can "MAKE IT WITH MAVERICK" :)

"Make it with Maverick" is so ripe with opportunity for misinterpretation... I immediately envision the neighbors averting their eyes.

The slogan sucks. On a more serious note, how about, Take It With Maverick. Emphasizes the truck bed capabilities above and beyond a typical SUV or sedan.

Now, for our stoner owners, Bake it with Maverick.

Many years ago my town threw an inordinate amount of money at a group to come up with a slogan…. They landed on “Simply Cloverdale.”
I know very little about “branding”, but I do know a plate of brownies for my fourth graders would have yielded better results. I also think that may be the case here.
