After purchasing a 2020 Escape AWD Hybrid and now a 2022 Maverick, I used most of my 88K FordPass points and ordered a tonneau cover at $0 cost to me (except buying two new vehicles lol)

these really need to be about an inch longer. I don’t know who measured these to manufacture them, but I hope it’s not the guy who built my actual truck.

after installing and getting gaping spaces in the back where the tailgate closes, I had to Loosen all six brackets and try again (see pic with hand)

Please note do not get in the habit of leaving tools on the black bumper because there is very little clearance if you lower your tailgate on top of your tools (see pic)

After moving the cover back significantly from the window I had enough room for the rubber flap to cover the tailgate however as you can see from the picture below it is still not a perfect seal And you can see how far back I am from the window just to get it sealed this well

If any of you were curious like I was if the sliding tiedown rails or the spray in bedliner would affect the cover, it does not in the clamps fit just right

Like any responsible maverick owner would do I went to my local automatic car wash and ran through the system. I’m a bit disappointed at how much water got in and I have this sucker down tight. In comparison to the cheap cover I had from Amazon for our F150 barely let a drop of water in going through the same car wash

Overall, it was a free cover and it will do the job to keep luggage relatively dry in the normal rain or snow or dust, etc. and I will probably tinker with it to see if I can get it sealed a little better but these need to be longer plain and simple, If I paid the full nearly $300 for it I would take it back, no question. The Ford logo on the cover and the overall cover itself does look nice.

Which tonneau cover is that? I ordered the hard roll-up tonneau cover. Sure hope mine won't be like that? I think Ford uses REV Tonneau Covers.

Something is wrong with all these covers, I had a 2008 frontier with a truxedo soft roll up. It was the basic one, not flush. Never leaked, fit perfectly front and back. The only time water got in was wind driven rain and car washes. Even then it was minimal. The Nissan also didn’t have the large gaps that are being called drainage for the Maverick beds on either side.
for me, the issue isn’t “it’s a truck bed, things are supposed to get wet”, it’s just that the water infiltration is much more than others, even with the tonneau cover.
I ordered the bed rug that has the tailgate gap cover, as well as tailgate weatherstripping. I plan to modify my soft folding cover (factory) to be sealed better.

Order mine in December from dealer. Took about 5 to 6 weeks. Still waiting for Ford floor mats. Also got tailgate assist, very nice, tailgate goes nice and easy. No bang.

Ordered from tonneau around xmas time and because of some of the delays. It came right away from tonneaucoverd.com. 83735 - EXTANG SOLID FOLD 2.0 - 2022 FORD MAVERICK. Have not unboxed it to check it out but the box looks ok and will when the weather stays above freezing and not to windy.

Guessing mid spring the earliest - April but probably May before the truck arrives.
The funny thing about them is they said that installing it to see if it fits makes it used and can not return. ?? So would have to take it up with Extang as the fit would be a defect that is covered in the 3 year warrantee.

I got the trifold hardtop from Ford, dealer installed, and I too have an issue. you can see light through it at night. Not sure if this is how it should be or not. It has been having water drip in from snow melt. It is less protective than the soft tri-folds I have used in the past like the one you show. Disappointed.

There are other people having issues with the Ford hard tonneau cover. Your cover is also not right.I plan on calling my dealership on Monday and letting the service manager know that others have a problem with the cover. Ford should make good for this .It is not a cheap cover!

Any more news on this? I don't have my XL yet BUT I have already purchased the Ford soft roll up cover and not sure what to expect or if I need to return now. I've never had a cover on a bed before. I really do not want to do a lot of refit / gap sealing to try to get something that is reasonably water tight. My goal for this cover would be to be able to take the truck on a 3 hour trip to the beach with luggage in the back and not have a major water issue. Is there some steps I should take the are different than the instructions to get the best fit possible? I 100% do not want to spend more than $400 for a cover!

Yeah it's like when you "SAY" the bed is 4 and a half = 4.5, but when you "measure" 4 and a half = 4 foot 6 inches (a few other cover manufacturers were given the same dimensions) i myself bought the same cover with ford pass points & it does keep snow/rain out fine, but not great in the car washes.

My Lariat came with the cover already but I’m having a hard time pulling on the latches at the tailgate to open it. Is there a way to adjust the tension on those?
