I had room for two switches, one above the other.

Thanks, that's so helpful. I think I'll give this mod a try sometime . . . really like what you did with the switches, though I may try more of a rocker style.

If you wire it the way Diode Dynamics sends the kit out and place the switch under your dash, the Foglight only come on with the Low beam headlights. The power come from the low beams being turn on. The switch only turns them off.

I wonder how new ๐Ÿค” vehicles with Foglights installed would work in PA. I sure you seen people rolling with just fogs and parkers on in everything from a suburban to a mirage.
I wasn't clear in my comment - fogs cannot be used in conjunction with high beams. They can be used at any other time.... so cruising with only fogs on during the day is permitted.

Check on jjc-llc.com he has some FX4 options
I actually have a set of his brackets and bezels siting right here next to me... but it will not have the factory look of the DD fogs I'm holding out for DD to come up with an FX4 version.

I don't want them wired that way....I am rewiring so that the amber foglight is on when the truck is running and the fogs are controlled by my switch regardless of the high or low beam. This is how I always wire up my fog so I control them not the vehicle. I may wire it so the white fogs are only on when the headlights are on..not sure. But I want my fogs available with my high beams regardless. I never understood that concept of turing them off with the highs on..makes no sense at all.
Actually, this makes complete sense. The concept of Fog lights came forth as a way to create light UNDER the fog, because regular lights reflect back at the driver while driving in fog.

So when driving in fog, one is supposed to turn off regular beams (let alone high beams) and use the fog lights.

I also notice a very large amount of people use their fog lights in normal conditions, which is actually not allowed. Granted: it looks cool, but it quickly blinds on comers. Reason is the positioning of the fog lights: they are installed with a beam that is horizontal with the body of the car. So when a car bumps up and down, the fog lights will go up and down to, blinding oncoming traffic. Regular lights are not beaming horizontally, but have been positioned to face down towards the road. When a car bumps you and down, their relative position is STILL pointing down towards the road, as not to blind oncoming traffic.

Looking cool is great, but taking safety into account is cooler ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜Ž

I have yet to see any mechanic in NY (yearly inspections) ever even test my fog lights to even see if they work for the last 30 years. I now this because most of my cars had a power switch way down below the dash for my fogs and I never had a tester ask me how to turn on my fog lights during an inspection. Burned out tailight bulb or high/low beam they care about but never my fogs even though they are supposed to ....any light on the front of a car in NY has to work if installed on a vehicle. Nowadays the only reason for a yearly car inspection is to gouge the consumer for another thirty bucks for a bulb or wiper (if they get lucky) and $21 for an inspection. People already replace their bulbs pretty fast in NY since troopers will give you a citation (fix for free in 48 hours or else pay a fine in court).
As far as lighting....I use my fogs mainly for more light in front and too the sides of my vehicle. If the US would up their standards to Euro specs so that our headlights matched their requirements then there would be less need for addiitonal lighting. Most cars have dismal front lighting ...getting better but still not great. As far as oncoming other drivers....sorry...I lost my respect for other drivers 5 years ago once they all started driving below speed limits in the high speed lanes and failed to get over. Drive in PA or NY thruway ....almost every backup is caused by slow drivers in the passing lane or trucks that drive in the passing lane and never pull back to the right. I constantly see jams a half mile long because some driver in the left lane won't pull back over and is driving along side another car going under the speed limit.

In Virginia they will make you changed the fog lights or they will tell you to remove them if they find out they wont turn off when the high beams are on. Just to let you know i work on cars everyday and used cars the va inspector will make us remove them or put covers on them if they find out they are aftermarket or not working properly how they should. Thats why i used the bcm to control this and i found out with another member how to use them with the DRL lights lol wich they will always be on if the car its on Drive and moving with Drl.

I've never been more happy that I waited for fog lights lol I was close to buying all the parts to do the same but was worried it wouldn't look OEM. Then you showed us this kit. I can't thank you and Diode Dynamics enough because I probably would've spent more than necessary and it wouldn't look as good as this ๐Ÿ™Œ
