Has anyone hooked up fog lights to kick off with the high beams like factory? Live in one of those fun states where they need to for inspection.
Was thinking about making a "jumper" harness so I don't need to hack into the factory wiring...so essentially a plug and play...but wasn't sure if it would cause any issues with the LED headlights?
Correct me if I'm wrong but it's the 12v+ that signals them to kick off stock?
Was planning on using that same principle but didn't know if it would cause any issues with the voltage or canbus?
Would I need to add a resistor somewhere in between?
Totally miss the days where it was just electrical without all the sensors watching everything.
Any thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated.
When I can find a picture of the harness I'm planning on using I'll post it too.

You could just do what i did and hook them up to the factory switch and used the factory bcm

Ok, but will that turn them off automatically when the high beams are engaged?

Since the Maverick didn't have a fog light option available how's the factory switch work? Since there's not any dedicated switch for the fogs (like the Escape/Bronco have) assuming they'd always be on with the headlights then?

Vtec is using an F-150 switch.

My switch came today. Might try tomorrow . Mocking up the fog lamps and build the base. Heres a preview of the switch im going to try to use.

Do we have to buy that entire assembly to get the fog light button in the center of light switch?
Yes. It's <$100, so not too pricey, but you will also need FORScan and add at least one terminal to the BCM connector to get its resultant output from the BCM. It doesn't have a discrete circuit on the switch on its own (unless you crack it open and mess with the PCB); it sends a digital message to the BCM to close the fog light circuit/transistor which must be enabled.

Thanks for the heads up on the programming
