Translation: We're getting at least 5k for these and won't be low balled.

Curious how much the MSRP on the Mavericks go up in 2023. I'm guessing AT LEAST 2k. Maybe even +5k if we get a few more months of raging inflation.

Folks can say "I won't pay ADM - I'll wait" all day long but my gut says the longer you wait the more you're going to pay.

Paying 5k for a loaded lariat full of constrained items seemed like a no-brainer decision when bare bones XLs are commanding the same markup.
Contracts for parts for 2023 are already in place - I don't think we'll see a huge increase, perhaps another bump similar to the January(?) price hikes. I reserve the right to be wrong :)

I suspect Ford desperately wants to avoid the ADM situation continuing on and would rather adjust MSRP than see dealers continue to mark up their products. Combined with the fact that Ford is selling more Mavericks than they can produce... seems like a perfect storm to raise prices.

Plus... a Hybrid Truck for 22k in 2023? PFFFT. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

I reserve the right to be wrong. ;)

If they start at a $5k ADM, I would respond that you're on the way there. I would make plans to go to the dealership and begin the conversation. If the response in email is 'no' the dealership will simply move to the next potential buyer. Sitting in the chair at the dealership, the truck may be had for less once they know the entire picture (do they have a genuine buyer , can they place financing for the buyer, does the buyer want an extended warranty, etc..)

good luck
I tried this and it didn’t work
Was even trading in my current Maverick (FWD XLT going for FX4 Lux XLT) but they weren’t budging at all
Wasted a day off but I took my dad with me so it wasn’t a bad day driving across Texas

Strikes me as odd to say the Maverick isn't worth 30k when used XLs literally sell for 30k all day long. (citation: https://www.edmunds.com/inventory/s...ord&model=maverick&radius=6000&sort=price:asc )

If you look at the vehicles that are likely to be cross shopped against the Maverick they all start at +25k for the base models and get very pricey once you add features.

Of course the other side of things is that 30k doesn't go nearly as far as it used to....

My dealer had a batch of 6 fleet Mavericks. The lack of a tow hitch on them would be a problem for me if my dealer called about them

I agree the longer wait the more youll pay. I dunno about paying a 5k markup even then though lol at that point id probably just look at a different truck.

Salesman’s reply a few minutes ago:

“I spoke with management this morning. It seems like the better option for you will be to order yours once the order banks open. I will let you know when they open back up. The prices of the Mavericks will be higher than your request.”
I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out, you tried. I'm in your area and if I hear of anything available I'll let you know soonest.

Hang in there.... (y)

How do you define what something is "worth"?

It seems to me the best metric would be what people are willing to pay.

I disagree. Once the layoffs start people will be eager to sell the toys they can no longer afford.

That's how a market economy works. It's amusing to me to see people say that prices for <product> are "outrageous" and then go off on a rant about greedy corporations and "obscene" profits.

You ain't gotta pay it if you don't want to.

What layoffs? And what toys? What i meant was a 23’ mav will be more than the 22… and the 24 will be more than the 23… and so on
