Hey guys, I decided this weekend to start running the power wires for my new sub from the battery, through the firewall and back to the rear passenger seat.

Of course though, what should have been an easy job almost instantly turned into a major PITA. I for some reason thought it would be a good idea to try punching a hole through the grommet in the firewall while it was installed. In the process, I ended up knocking the grommet into the engine bay, and upon trying to retrieve it, knocked it into the abyss.

I've spent the last 2 hours searching for it, and still can't find....

Does anyone happen to know the part number (if one exists) for said grommet? I can see about getting a pic uploaded later, but it's the grommet on the drivers side, behind the pedals, leading to behind the battery on an ecoboost.

Edit: pic of the grommet I found on the forums here

Slight update, I managed to come across South Lake Ford's parts website, and it seems to have fairly detailed parts diagrams for the Maverick.

A little further digging led me to this diagram, which I think might show the plug/grommet I'm looking for as HP5:

I've gone ahead and ordered a set of 4 from my local dealer (apparently they only come in packs of 4). They were cheap enough that I certainly didn't mind taking a gamble on ordering them 🤷‍♂️.

If they end up being the correct part, I'll post back here incase anyone else ends up hunting for the same grommet.

I'd found that same diagram, but I think the plug you want is actually here:

Ford Maverick Firewall Grommet Part #? 1720546779374-

Above the steering column hole and where a clutch pedal would be (there's even the studs for it), but as you can see there's no callout for the plug that goes there.

Hmmm, you may be right there.... I thought that HP5 looked a little more round than it should (the actual grommet/plug is more of a slot shape than a round hole).

I suppose this will likely be the final update to this thread.

I've now visited 3 dealerships, and all tell me that the part doesn't exist in any of their parts diagrams. The last parts advisor I spoke to suggested reaching out to Ford Corporate. I just finished speaking with them, and they say they don't handle anything parts related. For parts, I need to go to a dealership.

So I appear to be stuck now with the dealerships not having all the info they need from Ford Corporate to help me, and Ford Corporate telling me there's nothing they can do and that only a dealership can help me.

SIGH....

You may want to try universal plugs from a kit like this.

I wonder if it's the same grommet/plug on an escape or bronco sport, they're a lot more common in junkyards.

I found a 2021 Escape at my local junkers. They have the same dash panel/firewall with this hole/cutout, but the escape runs a wiring harness through there, so no plug unfortunately. Not certain about the bronco, but it does appear to be the same firewall panel as the Maverick.

I took mine out today to install through wall wire and remembered your post. I noticed there was a part number on it (JX61-13K732-AB). See attached picture.

I did a google search for that part number and found a dealer selling it. It shows up as a Ford Escape Part based on that number. Here is the Dealer Link:

I made sure to keep this grommet in my sight based on your experience.

Thanks
