Wonder what they're building in Hermosillo? Doesn't seem to be Mavericks.

Perhaps it is time to recognize that there is another reasonable potential outcome. If you have your VIN at this time, your vehicle WILL get built. It is just that there is a chance it may have to be built as a MY23. If that happens you will very, very likely receive the same benefits as those who did not receive a VIN but have already been rolled over. FORD could give you an even better deal because of what you have experienced. Some may think it better to get a MY23 instead of a MY22 based on how it works out financially.

Sure. I was theorizing that with my dealer a couple of weeks ago. Do we go to the head of the line or, the end of the line? Damn, I didn't want to get the truck in winter.

I don’t understand why some of you opted to not place a new order. That just makes no sense. And your options, should you get dumped, will not include a Maverick.
Don’t worry if I get dumped after waiting a year with a vin number and scheduled since August, I guarantee I won’t be ordering any kind of Ford! I’m pretty sure there will be more buying options soon enough.

I would like to think that this frees up resources for building Mavericks.
I'm thinking the same thing. Maybe Ford realized that there were not enough Hybrid engines/batteries to build all 2022 Mavericks and decided to reallocate the Escape engines/batteries to the Maverick. Probably other constrained items were reallocated also. Could be Ford finally did something right.

There is no official word, yet, that Ford will be canceling some of the remaining 22 Maverick orders, but I thought that I would share that this week ford announced that they would be canceling some of the Escape and Transit Connect.

And today, 10/14, they announced the same for Escape.

Are there going to be more cancellations? I don't know. All I know is that this sucks.
There are just wayyy too many people here posting their “my coworker’s friend’s mom’s scuba instructor said Ford is doing XYZ now” stories. Imagine if everyone on the forum took to calling Ford directly at least once a week for updates and giving them this negative feedback both on the phone and in their survey afterwards. Might not make any more trucks get made but at least they might realize that none of their Maverick buyers are getting any updates or info at all. Start tagging Ford in social media posts regularly to force them to be more transparent. I’ve never once heard from Ford at all, and only heard from my salesperson if i called them. I’m sure people at Ford know of this website, but then reading the forums here, vs them being consistently called out on public social media is different. Idk. Just so much negativity focused here when it could actually accomplish more if made public and make potential Maverick/Ford buyers buy a different brand.

Ford is not going to hold up production on the 86,000 MY23 orders just because a few constrained parts for a handful of MY22 are missing.
I don't understand your thinking. If there are constraints, then the constraints are the same for the 22s and the 23s. How could a "handful of MY22s" hold up production? Ford does not tell the assembly plant to stop all production because of some MY22 constraints.

Right, but there are some constraints they took out of packages for MY23 to make them more easy to get built. Why wait on a handful of MY22 Lariats they have to put a SIBL on when they have an entire run of MY23 Lariats that have no SIBL? If they have all the parts but the SIBL, why not go ahead an just start the run?

That's what I mean. Ford has an entire order bank of easier to build trucks ready to go. They may just go ahead and start building them.

How they handle the leftover MY22, who knows? This thread posits one potential outcome. But until we know, we don't know. My personal theory is what they did with other models: start deleting options to get them built and reducing the sticker.

I understand better what you are thinking however, there are no MY22 waiting to be built due to constraints. The only MY22s remaining have VINs and have no constraints. Delays are due to newly discovered recall issues.

Hard for me to understand how recall issues have been pushing my build back 10 times since August. Recalls may well be part of the issue but not the majority.

My understanding is they are all resolved as all vehicles identified were already out the door. Even the airbag thing ended in July.

But I'm an IT project manager. I just know how things work in a manufacturing facility in theory. In practice, I have no idea what Ford is doing and am just speculating along with the rest of you. Computer programs are easier to prioritize.
